  1. Many would consider Quantuma's glaring incompetence to be indefensible. However, I appreciate that not everyone necessarily feels that way.
  2. A really decent young player and a natural finisher. Probably needs good mentoring to bring out his best.
  3. Quantuma were pretty gullible being taken in by Kirchner, but they weren't the only ones. The 'honourable' local MP's also jumped on the bandwagon, then typically slithered under the door when the truth emerged.
  4. If it's not obvious to you: The reckless and chaotic financial management that brought humiliation and dishonour to a once great football club, and almost its total demise.
  5. Totally agree. There's no way that SP wasn't complicit. To suggest otherwise is rather fanciful.
  6. Yes Warney will definitely be manager/head coach next season, which ever division we are in. If it is the ch'ship there are going be some tough times. It'll have to be a case of facing one challenge at a time. Primary objective, accrue more than 11 points 🙏
  7. I genuinely respect your opinion, and as you suggest, an individuals perspective will be influenced by their thoughts on the way things operated during Mel Morris's tenure. However, the vast majority would agree, that the financial management was totally shambolic. To the many people who've taken an interest, the whole thing with Pearce will seem odd. It's hard to imagine that someone so closely involved in what was without doubt, Derby County's darkest days, is actually still at the club. In most organisational changes (non football included) of the scale of what has taken place at DCFC, a top level restructuring would (at some point) see a wholesale clear out of the previous administration. Pearce still being at the club is strange enough, but to suggest that he can barely utter anything of relevance due to NDA's seems ridiculous and only fuels suspicions. It seems only a close knit group of people are aware of the motivation behind keeping SP at the club. It should be remembered that the loyal supporters played a massive part in saving the club, ensuring that it was worthwhile Mr Clowes getting involved. If the fans had turned their back, there would be no DCFC. Makes one wonder, if Mr Pearce has ever considered that it would be better to walk away, rather than apparently being muted by NDA's, and tainted by associated with the previous administrations murky finances. That's probably the honourable thing to do, but perhaps not in the world we currently live in.
  8. Well I don't know if the recent revelation that the club is currently losing +£6m a year has been confirmed, but if so it could be difficult to break even in the championship, with inevitable increased wages. Most championship clubs are (or were) carrying significant debt and the combined debt of EFL Ch'ship clubs was in excess of £1.5 billion (2022). Derby County's owner has referred to sustainability, so hopefully the club intends to operate within a financial framework that ensures such.
  9. Apparently not, and it isn't an isolated incident. It's either something that the manager hasn't been able to eradicate through coaching, or the inability of the players to concentrate and manage games. A bit strange considering one thing we do have in the team is lot's of experience. Perhaps just a case of more inconsistency generally in L1.
  10. Irrespective of whether Warney was being economical with the truth, the situation obviously wasn't managed particularly well. The outcome being 2 valuable points lost.
  11. Achieving both success and entertaining football was always going to be a stretch once Warney was appointed. Nevertheless, considering what the club has gone through recently, many (including myself) would be willing to sacrifice a season (or two) of attractive football, just to get out of a dire L1 and have a crack at surviving in the Ch'ship. As others have pointed out, despite being 2nd in the league, we are not very convincing at the moment. Perhaps this group of players (and probably the management) just aren't quite good enough / ruthless enough to win the crucial games that could secure an automatic promotion place. Chucking the game against Shrewsbury being typical, there are many other examples. In all likelihood we will be relying on teams around us messing up, if we're to avoid the dreaded play offs.

  13. Yes, in terms of the interview waffle, the phrase 'less is more' springs to mind.
  14. The Rotherham brain drain continues. Wonder if their NHS nurses and doctors are also emigrating to the east midlands?
  15. To make any inroads towards 'financial freedom' someones going to need to come up with a strategy to move the club away from being a loss making business. Just my thoughts.
  16. Charlton 2 - 2 Rams frgs Mendez Laing
  17. Tend to agree more or less with the top six prediction. We probably don't have enough in the squad to make it to the play off final, but I would still expect Warne to be the manager next season. The club is apparently losing money and the sale of Max Bird is going to offset some of the losses. The club can hardly afford to pay off the manager and his coaching staff.
  18. I'm not frustrated or even disappointed by the predictable (non) signing of a striker. I would rather the club was just up front about it and treated the supporters with some respect or at least in an adult way. In any business transaction, if you are serious and professional you don't let a crucial deal get anywhere near the deadline unless you have a contingency plan to fall back on. All this stuff that trotted out 'just couldn't get the deal over the line' 'close but ran out of time' 'thought we had someone lined up' etc etc.... just puerile nonsense.
