I’d say a successful owner is one that doesn’t send a club in to administration at the minute…but I do think he’s been hard done to by Newcastle fans.
He bought them in 2007, if you look at the table in 2008 and how many of those clubs are no longer Premier League (or at least suffered a relegation in that time) you’d get Villa, Blackburn, Portsmouth, Middlesbrough, Wigan, Sunderland, Bolton, Fulham, Reading, Birmingham and Derby (I think West Ham might have even been down in that time too?).
So 11/12 teams also have been relegated and I’d say only Villa and West Ham can say they’re better sides when he sold them.
We could easily be talking about Newcastle falling to League 1 rather than Sunderland/Portsmouth/Bolton as they were all just as good as Newcastle around that time.
It’s extremely difficult to compete in the Premier League unless you’re spending ridiculous money and even then it’s not guaranteed (look at Everton).
Not saying he’s my pick as I wouldn’t be happy with -15 points, but if he was to take over then I think I’d be optimistic in where we would be in 3-5 years time. If I’m honest, Kirchner scares me a lot as it’s just all so unknown and if you read Slync’s staff reviews of Kirchner on Glassdoor it’s concerning. Appleby is a good medium for me, tried and tested but (hopefully) without -15 points.

The admins have been running the club, not funding it. I’ve no idea if the loan was with them or just facilitated by them but if it is with them then it’s a lot different to how we’ve been operating for the majority of the season where we’ve been relying on player sales/match day income etc.
I think Ed Dawes had the right to raise concern that CK didn’t pay the wages (not directly) as it shows we still haven’t seen CK’s money…which has proved since to be a big issue.

Out of interest, anyone any idea what/who it takes trump Quantuma? Sounds like we need a leader in place to take some direction and use Quantuma as the info/admin part.

I can’t be bothered to look for a source, but from memory, didn’t they say something along the lines of ‘we’re accepting it rather than fighting it because we believe it’ll streamline a takeover’?

Don't the EFL actually communicate with Quantuma directly.
Wouldn't it have been better to say we have spoken to Quantuma today and asked them how they intend to take the club out of Administration.
This statement serves no purpose at all other than arse covering.

Quantuma need to save face now.
No matter what happens here on out they will never be used again in Football, but this is likely to start ruining their reputation on a wider scale.
Maybe they will cut their fee and do a deal with MA or another party (if CK fails).

Yeah I worked on the payment side of things, so it’s good to hear you were always paid! But yeah, a very cash rich business that grew faster than he could ever have imagined and as a result meant some things slipped as he couldn’t have his eyes on everything.
Always a decent bloke with me and gave me experience that I’d never get going to work at another company that size so I’ll always be grateful to him.

Depends what you class as fail.
If they’re failing as stand alone businesses, he usually strips the assets worth keeping and implements them in to his more successful businesses.
Example being Cruise and Van Mildert (two clothing shops selling high end stuff). They were performing pretty poor and he kept their suppliers but shut the stores and fed the brands in to Flannels.

Worst case scenario is if CK’s and another buyer’s funds clear on the same day. Cue a protracted legal saga of 48 months to work out who owns Derby County. It’s the Derby way…?

To be fair to MA, he had no idea that they even did the searches out of their working hours and as soon as he knew he put it right.
