Mel has invested well over £100 million in the club since he assumed overall control, the basic business of the club, is in my opinion not in a mess, we have a great ground , great academy and the commercial side of the businesses is very well run which as a previous tenant of an executive box at the ground I have very good first hand knowledge of.
What is an issue is the unrealistic expectations and demands of a supporter base that expects the rams to win every game and if that does not happen to get their pitchforks out to drive the owner/manager/players out of the club/town. I believe the squandering of Mel's cash was a direct result of that pressure and the decisions of some previous senior executives.
I would repeat what I have said before be careful what you wish for, because because both the fake sheik and the Alonso guy look far worse custodians of the club than Mel Morris, If I was Mel and getting this level of abuse I would liquidate and take whatever cash I could and spend the rest of my days with my feet up.
Giver over mate, how the hell you can credit Mel for the mess we are in now is ridiculous, he deserves all the abuse thrown at him! He couldn’t run a bath. Bad decision after bad decision has finally taken its toll on the club, sooner he ducks off the better! Fans will always have a higher expectation especially a team of Derby’s Calibre like u said in the first paragraph with a great ground, great academy, decent history! Why shouldn’t we have high expectations? We don’t mean winning the premier league but we certainly don’t mean on the brink of 3rd tier football. Think you need to go back to the beer garden and have a few more beers.

Shinnie has undoubtedly improved, Buchanan as well
Buchanan seriously? He can’t get ahead of Forsyth at the minute, he was in the young England squad not so long ago before pooney took over! He’s gone downhill massively
-
Can anyone actually name a player in our squad which Rooney has actually improved? I can name a lot who’s gone backwards under him but none that’s improved

So who do you think is continuing to bankroll us? A club losing god knows how many million during the pandemic, and if his backing wasn’t there where would we be? ??♂️
I’m not on about his backing. I’m on about his decisions! He can keep putting money into the club but if he’s constantly making bad decisions he’s going to end up losing it quicker than he’s put in.

It’s never good to go down. But it won’t be the unmitigated disaster that some make out.
If the takeover doesn’t go through Mel won’t plunge us into administration.
I’m sorry but Mel is the problem! Until he’s gone this club will just keep sinking while others clubs keep laughing at us

Relegation would obviously be best avoided if possible. The amount of damage relegation would cause is dependant on who would be sold. A large number of U23s would be catapulted into the first team.
As mentioned in another thread, I'd expect the following to be sold: Marshall, Byrne, Buchanan, Bird, Knight Shinnie, Sibley, Lawrence, Jozwiak, Marriott.
Roos, Foster, Ebosele, McDonald, Davies, Solomon, JBrown, Forsyth, Archie, Bielik, LThompson, Hutchinson, Watson, Ibe, Shonibare, JML, Wilson, Kazim, Stretton
Would 5 or 6 signings be enough to win promotion?
Problem is what team would want to buy the players you have mentioned to be sold? That’s more a less out starting 11 which could end up getting us relegated! Unless managers seem to think they can get better out of them which begs the question why can’t our manager do it?

That's fair enough and I'm not criticising. I'm interested in Derby County if they're playing in the Champions League or league two. For me, the team I support is more important than the league they're in or the quality of the opposition.
Reckon your one of the people who clap the players off at the end of the game when we’ve just been hammered 5-0 ain’t u?

Worst start we could of asked for

I was just expecting England's all time top goalscorer and Manchester United's to have some better players in mind than bloody Lee Gregory and George edmundson, players that can't get in the Stoke and rangers squad, feel like he could of been more cheeky and used his contacts niasse is a free agent , he'll even sturridge might be up for it we got rooney to join didn't we? Plenty of players on the fringes of prem teams that we could of gone for on loans just like Gregory ?♂️ what do you think of the transfer deals so far mate?
I’m not commenting until seen them play, I thought CKR was a poor signing but more fooled me!

The Twitter rumours refer to Celtic fans wanting to sign him, not that the club do. Fingers crossed it’s just wishful thinking on their part.
Hopefully mate

Twitter rumours saying Celtic will go back in for Roberts
-
Steve Nicholson reporting we won’t be getting any replacements in for Bielik, so we can end all the rumours for the defensive midfielders
-
Didn’t Roberts have a spell at forest?

I think Anthony Gordon from Everton is going to be one of the players he’s on about
-
Looks like we are set to sign Niasse if we can come out of an embargo according to rumours on twitter, wants to work with Rooney
-
Looks like he’s off to Nuremberg.
Time to walk away Wayne
