Pleased for you as a fanbase - you've had to suffer enough!
Also on a personal (selfish) note as it means the city I live in continues to have an EFL football club, and a big one at that. I've enjoyed some fantastic days at Pride Park since I've lived here.
Not so pleased that it sounds like you might be in a position to sign on players much quicker than it was looking like!
I suppose if you beat us on opening day, the banter from the in-laws and friends will be over nice and early!

No not "Are you happy that it's Clowes rather than A.N. Other?" as if anybody is seriously sat there this morning wishing someone else was buying us you really need to give your head a wobble, and realise the seriousness of the situation that we were actually in.
No, what I'm looking for is some sort of consensus of how people pronounce "Clowes"...

The weight of this job at such a critical time for #DCFC isn’t lost on me but I can’t wait to start & follow the top work by @_chriscoles_

For me there are two important outcomes for DCFC here: the first is the obvious one - just making it through this crisis.  The second is to find a way out of this that means that whoever comes out of this administration owning you isn't just a puppet for the previous regime (i.e. you've at the very least got a clear route to owning your own stadium/training ground, etc.)
I've seen too many clubs either threatened or ruined by shysters masquerading as saviours in recent years; including my own club on a few occasions unfortunately.  Ultimately it's fans like you or me that go through the grief/anguish worrying about whether we'll have a club to support.  At that point it becomes less about who we support; and more about the fact we're supporters of clubs that support our communities.
    Keep fighting and stay proud.

Thank you mate. Hopefully it gets resolved soon. We all need to stand together as a footballing community at times to make sure our clubs aren't taken away from us fans.
I can't imagine Derby with no Derby County or Portsmouth with no Portsmouth Football Club.

This is exactly the problem, he showed “proof of funds” and yet evidently didn’t have them. That suggests to me the “proof” the EFL and Quantuma required was not good enough. Same for the fit and proper person test, we all know that’s a complete nonsense. I could make the highest bid, but if it’s Monopoly money, I shouldn’t be made preferred bidder. This has to be sorted out, for the next club in our position as much as anything else.

This is exactly what happens every single time. Certain posters, the “sensible ones” as you so put it, ignore any sort of bad news story because it’s not what they want to hear. Happened with Mel Morris, happened with Bin Zayed, and happened with Chris Kirchner.
I’m not believing in “any old crap”, I’m basing my view on the facts in front of me - there’s literally nothing to back up your constant defence of Quantuma.
Look at the facts - we’ve been in administration for 9 months and we still haven’t found a buyer! Now I understand it’s not an easy process that’s been left by Mel but come on. There’s been shedloads of interest all the way through, and it took them until April to name a preferred bidder, despite multiple reports that they were set to name one before that point - but then mysteriously pulled out without explanation. And when they did name a preferred bidder, they named one without any clear wealth, who seemed a very shady character with only some rudimentary digging into him online. They allowed him to piss about for weeks despite missing multiple deadlines that they themselves set, pushing us perilously close to the brink.
Virtually every journalist has criticised them, including the more reputable ones like John Percy. Multiple bidders coming out alleging poor communication, and now this Mike Ashley story. As much of a w***** as Ashley is generally, it’s not exactly an unbelievable read, based on how the process has been handled so far. He wouldn’t take them to the high court is he didn’t think he had a case, he’s not an idiot.
Still believing Quantuma have done their job well enough is fingers in your ears stuff at this point. I know people who know people within the club - including some very high up - and believe you me their views of Quantuma are not positive.

    Portsmouth fan here in peace.
I'm guessing that some of you will have seen that we have previous with Andronikou involved as an administrator with us; and fair to say that those of our support who remember him hold him in utter contempt.
I sincerely hope you manage to rid yourself of Morris' tenure and are able to move on properly from all this without him having any control over any of the assets your club needs to move forward.
Look after yourselves - and hopefully when we meet next season things will be on a bit more of an even keel for you.

    RIP - Jamie...

The sister of a former Derby County player says she has been left heartbroken after he died following a short illness. Jamie Vincent died aged 46 after being diagnosed with a rare heart condition.
The former defender also played for Bournemouth, Crystal Palace, Portsmouth and Swindon Town. But his sister Lisa Clarkson said he always put his family first.
Lisa, who lives in Burton, has now told how Jamie's family have been left devastated by his death as he leaves behind three children. Speaking to StaffordshireLive, she said she misses her younger brother.
Lisa said: "He was a very charming, very popular person. He was incredibly kind and very generous. But he was also a joker who would make you laugh.
"His sense of humour was amazing and he was such good company. I remember when it was my sister Sharon's 40th birthday. Sharon hated any kind of attention so she had said that she didn't want anything special. On the night, he turned up at her house wearing a Mexican outfit with a fake moustache.
"She didn't recognise him and thought it was a strippergram. She ran back indoors yelling. I think that sums up what kind of person he was."
Jamie made more than 500 appearances for 11 clubs across his 19-year playing career. He began his playing days with Palace before moving to Bournemouth where he played more than 100 times.
After spells with Huddersfield Town, Portsmouth, Wallsall, Derby, Millwall and Yeovil, the left back moved to Swindon Town. He helped the Robins win promotion to League One in 2007.
Lisa was with Jamie at his mother's home near Croydon when he died earlier this year. She says she was "heartbroken" when it happened.

Odd as this may seem, I have restrained myself from commenting throughout all of this uncertainty.
However, I'm breaking my silence now.
I know no more or no less than anyone else - but of this I'm certain.
After that statement from the EFL there are two possible endings to this.
    1) The demise of the EFL.
    or
    2) The demise of DCFC as we know it.
    The High Court will decide.

For us wizzened old gits surely Dave Mackay's superb volley at the Ossie end to bring the score back to 1-1 in that epic League Cup match against Chelsea in 1968 must be up there.
I always said I wanted my ashes scattered from where he hit that ball.  I only hope the current residents don't mind a pile of burnt human remains in their front room!
Still the best game I've ever seen in 60 years of watching football and I was only 15 years old then.
