  1. Absolute legend. Of our recent academy products probably has the highest ceiling and if we go up and he keeps playing like this he will easily get a move to a big premier league club. Gutted about Bird but if we had to choose we’ve managed to tie down the more important of the two.
  2. People wanted a striker younger than 30, capable of outscoring 18 goal Collins, who would bring more play into the team and because of our financial position they would need to be either free or little cost. Anyone close to the above is either way out of price range (ie Langstaff) or has already been snapped up by the league above us. The fact that a player like Will Osula is getting regular prem game time shows how few exceptional strikers are out there right now. We have got to where we are in the league with the current attackers. Where we are faltering in recent games was down to the midfield and Warne has addressed that.
  3. I like Max Bird, I also like the money. I’m sure the club likes money too, so they are getting more money and the same amount of Max Bird. Not sure where the problem is here when he was never going to sign an extension.
  4. Collins does exactly what he told us he’d do, he scores goals. He’s not always going to be a stand out player but he’s a natural goalscorer in the purest sense of the word. Let our wingers be the flair players, we just need our striker to put the ball in the net.
  5. I’m really glad we won yesterday, I was worried with our form there was a risk of relegation/dropping out of the playoffs/falling away from the automatic promotion pack (delete as appropriate to sensationalise our poor playing style despite our still exceptional form).
  6. Hi all, Having a clear out of some old football shirts and signed Derby footballs. I know many on here are keen traders/collectors. Where do you find is best for buying and selling old shirts/merchandise?
  7. Can’t see the permanent pot being only less than £300k, wonder if we have those funds ready for another purchase? Roberts or Dobra maybe?
  8. Bolton are going to suffer from all their games in hand, fixture backlog plus a bad result to knock momentum and the games in hand can easily turn into losses
  9. Let’s for arguments sake agree a fee which matches that which Charlton pay for JCH from Peterborough, would we say we’ve come out of the deals better? I would say so, we’d be getting a player showing consistent form who is in prime years with resale value against a striker with no resale value realistically and if Peterborough fans are to be believed an attitude problem.
  10. Collins always said he plays better in a front two. Playing him and NML seems to really be paying off, one quick tricky player and another workhorse
  11. Huge result going our way right now, Portsmouth losing and will open another game in hand for us
  12. Not going to begrudge this loss. Two very good sides toe to toe today. Props to Peterborough they got us back for earlier in the season.
  13. Cashin is such a huge huge player at this level. Genuinely love watching him play.
  14. I would be getting Hourihane off at half time and either get Fornah on or Bradley with Cashin playing the sweeper role. We need someone with a bit more bite through midfield
  15. Actually have a sneaky suspicion we might sign him on a permanent deal on a free (presumably with some future add ons/sell on). It’ll be interesting to revisit these two posts come the end of January.
  16. Good figures, although the key numbers on that are at 5 and 6 instead of 1 and 2. The strongest teams in the division spread their goals amongst the squad. What happens if/when Rhodes or May get injured? Suspect Blackpool and Charlton would have some difficulty replacing them. I think there is only one attacking player we could not afford to lose to injury and that’s NML. Any of the other players we could probably patch up with other players fairly easily (from a goalscoring perspective).
  17. @David Not much I can add in here by way of advice more than already has been given, but talking as a Dad first and a Lawyer second, stick with it. The process in this country is difficult and at times (being generous there) you will think the local authorities and the Court’s processes will seem outdated and excessive. Best advice I can give as a layperson is speak up if something doesn’t seem right or you have questions. You will find they are all helpful and have plenty of support resources but they very often will not utilise these unless prompted. It’s a strange concept, having the same care and emotion for a child when they are not your own but it’s obvious from where you are with it there is never a reason to doubt yourself. A child remembers a single kindness shown to them and can shape their future far beyond what any person would expect.
  18. ‘The Seagulls have attempted to strike a pre-agreement for Derby Countydefender Eiran Cashin over the past few months for a fee in the region of £4million, though those talks have recently collapsed due to the good form of the League 1 outfit. There is an expectation that the interest is likely to be reignited at the end of the season.‘ https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1850430/Brighton-transfer-news-Valentin-Barco-Eiran-Cashin
  19. Feel good factor can be a huge huge consideration for a player. Out of the clubs linked with him, West Ham is the only one who seem to be having a stellar season by their standard. Brighton are doing well but struggling to emulate their accomplishments of last season. Even now, the pro/cons of Derby or Brighton have changed significantly since the last window. Can’t see him wanting to go for a relegation fight in the championship either. Gut feeling is he will wait until the summer, if we fail to go up, he leaves with blessing and well wishes for giving it his best. If we go up a long term contract and the chance to be part of the backline for years to come

    Wayne Rooney

As much as I hate to admit it, any club with ambitions of Premier League should be looking at Cooper. I’d put a cheeky tenner on promotion for whichever team he is manager of at the start of next season.
  21. Says it in the title really, we’ve become somewhat specialists at ‘Warneball’ and the art of putting the ball in the dangerous areas and it seems to work at this level. Something must be working if we get the likes of Wilson and Thompson getting on the end of these crosses despite their diminutive heights.
