Balls moving about a bit, a bit of uneven bounce, but it’s not a minefield or anything. Some poor shots got Sussex in trouble and then they’ve collapsed in a manner that would make Derbyshire proud 😀

I don't know the conditions, but I just wondered based on how Sussex have struggled this morning and if it stays dry the pitch should improve tomorrow? I agree with you though. There's always a concern we'll make batting on this surface look even more difficult than our opponents.

I’d put my money on Mohammad Amir being leading wicket taker if he's here for the whole season.
We’ve been a bit unfortunate with the bowling attack this season. It felt a bit short to start with, but Lakmal never got going (again), Aitchison got injured, Conners got injured and has only recently started looking good again, Chappell’s been carrying an injury for a while, Lamb got injured and still can't bowl. The home pitch giving the bowlers absolutely nothing to work with doesn't help either.

It hasn't "been awful for years". We are only 1 point off being a bottom half L1 side. Suggesting there are unrealistic expectations and arrogance due to expecting much better in this division is ludicrous. 
I felt the atmosphere was pretty good with Lampard and Cocu as managers, although it did start to fizzle out a bit after the initial excitement of Cocu as manager wore off. It was exceptional when in administration under Rooney, and that carried through to 22/23 under Rosenior, then gradually got worse under Warne.
Lampard, Rooney and Rosenior understood the importance of having a fantastic relationship with the fans, creating a united bond throughout the whole club. It is when that bond is greatest when the atmosphere is also at its best. Another factor is having sustained periods of possession. It allows the fans to also have a sustained period of backing the team. A break down in possession, has the affect of a breakdown in the atmosphere.

Billy Godleman, Suranga Lakmal, Mark Watt, Tom Wood, Mattie Mckiernan, and Archie Harrison have all been confirmed as leaving the club at the end of the season. McKiernan is retiring at 29.

Think Thompson has done well and deserves a new contract.
