  1. It’s a strange approach, but that seems to be what their Chairman does. I don’t even know why we bother wasting our time with them, it happened last year too.
  2. I’d take that, although there’s 3 strikers you’ve named with 3 very different playing styles, so it’s interesting to see what approach we’re going to take. Also, a £1mil loan fee for 4 months of 32 year old Michael Smith 😂😂😂😂
  3. He’s not gone on loan to anybody, they don’t seem keen to loan him out full stop.
  4. Charlton 1-2 Derby Blackett-Taylor
  5. This time yesterday there were zero links to Ebou Adams. In his interview, he said he knew of a serious interest from Derby around 2 months ago. The interest really ramped up just before he went off to Afcon, that would’ve been 3 weeks ago. So many transfers are left to the final day, it’s always happened. Just because we haven’t had any proper links to anyone beyond Smith or Gregory, doesn’t mean that nothings going to happen. Just wait and see. If the Club weren’t confident of another incoming today then I’m pretty sure they’d have left the Adams announcement til today.
  6. To be fair, I’ve just looked it up on WhoScored and he’s had 538 minutes from 14 games this season. Not a huge amount per game, but more than Thompson and slightly less than Fornah, so he shouldn’t be any more or less up to speed than some of our other options.
  7. For those with any concerns about his injury record. It appears it was a complete freak incident and isn’t something that’s a recurring injury… his match sharpness would be the main issue. He managed four full seasons prior to joining Cardiff, then has barely played in the last two years. He’s probably one to ease in slowly, which isn’t the most ideal when there’s only a few months left. https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/brutal-injury-never-seen-before-27550239.amp
  8. It’ll mean that the deal is all but dead. Chansiri is digging his heels in, so all but a massive U-turn last minute, that’ll be that. I’d like to hope there’s a better option out there for us than Gregory. And we shouldn’t be waiting for any U-turn from Wednesday as it’ll ultimately ruin any chance we have of getting a good alternative.
  9. A - Jamie Ward B - Kamil Jozwiak C - In recent years, Chris Martin. D - Anya. The low fee for Hughes as a way of waiving money owed for Vydra/Anya just makes his signing even worse.
  10. The booing at half-time against Cheltenham has been quickly rectified. “Ebouuu, Ebouuu”
  11. A player who did well for Forest Green in their League Two winning side, who has moved to the Championship but not really got a look in? The last one like that is alright, so why not.
  12. I don’t think even Quantuma could explain what they did throughout the admin process. I think there was mention of a 40% sell on for Delap (unless I’ve just made that up) which was cashed in on, so even though it’s only 2%, it’s nice that solidarity payments exist to give clubs something extra, however small that is.
  13. That’s true, although I do think that the signings at the likes of Bolton and Pompey are being looked at more enviously because of the lack of our activity. With Bradley at Bolton and Holmes at Pompey, they may be good players but I wouldn’t start them ahead of our current options so it would be a waste of a limited budget. I’d rather CBT over Callum Lang so I’m not particularly worried about that one either. I think we need to worry more about ourselves rather than what others are doing, if we end the window with a couple of round pegs in the round holes we need then I’d still back us to finish in the top 2. I don’t think we will get those round holes, but missing out on promotion would be more to our failure to recruit rather than how well other clubs have done with their signings.
  14. Thanks, I knew it would be minimal but that’s more than I thought. I don’t suppose you know the cut off in terms of definition? With players like Whittaker it’s pretty cut and dry, as would be future sales for players like Gordon and Delap. Players like Ebosele, Plange & Ebiowei were signed to our academy but weren’t exactly ‘developed’ by us, do you know if the solidarity payments by definition cover players like that?
  15. The way I read it is that we would still be entitled to some payment as we contributed to his education. I don’t know what the cut off or definition is in terms of that, but as Whittaker came right through our academy we should get a small amount, but given the quoted fees, it’s a sum that could still be useful for us.
  16. I believe we’d be due some kind of “solidarity payment” due to our role in his development. It may only be something like 1%, but that could earn us £100,000 - £150,000 which may help in bringing an extra face in. https://www.easportslaw.com/news/training-compensation-and-solidarity-mechanism#:~:text=“If a professional is transferred, former club (solidarity contribution). “If a professional is transferred before the expiry of his contract, any club that has contributed to his education and training shall receive a proportion of the compensation paid to his former club (solidarity contribution).“
  17. It honestly wouldn’t surprise me if we finish Thursday night with Cameron Jerome as a Derby player again…
  18. I’d rather send him to that other team for zilch than let Wycombe have absolutely any benefit from us.
  19. That account posts a load of pollocks.
  20. Well that puts to bed any rumours we get in the next 9 days about permanent signings... We can only have 5 loanees in the matchday squad, TJJ and CBT are two down, I think we'll probably end up with Smith and a CM (Embleton replacement) as well, so it leaves one more space for a "surprise" if we need it. I wonder if this deal structure also helps us out in the sense that, by signing him permanently in the summer and out of any EFL restrictions/business plans, we can then give him a longer contract and protect his value a little more.
  21. We could always sell everybody and decrease the 6 million operating debt??
