Didn't play the last one so not sure if it improved, but the amount of injuries you get was still ridiculous on 2016.

Gay players are a feature this year so expect to see stuff like 'Bamford sidelined for 2 weeks, anal fissure.'

I feel for the devs though, they didn't make the decision to include the rubbish, that comes from EA who are in the business of making money for their shareholders.

I understand them trying to maximise profits, what I don't understand is why they so pathetically try and mask it as 'player choice'. The sooner people understand exactly what EA, Activision, Ubisoft etc are doing they can make an informed choice. If you still want to play the games and spend the money crack on, at least you know up front that is the deal. Personally, there are enough other good games out there that don't pull this crap for me to opt out.

True but why are they all getting into bed with EA to begin with?

Respawn entertainment another one to come under EA yesterday (and making another Star Wars game).

Supposedly 100,000 Battlefront 2 pre-orders have been cancelled in protest at the micro transactions present in the game.

It was set so to unlock Darth Vader you'd have to spend around 40 hours playing. Then another 40 to unlock Luke Skywalker! That would take me all year.

One of the dev's defending it on Reddit received the most downvoted comment on Reddit history apparently, something like 400,000 downvotes.

To be fair EA listened and reduced the amount of points you need to unlock stuff by 75%.

One of the dev's received 7 death threats, and as terrible as that is it's now being used as a kind of victim currency to justify saying how awful gamers having negative feedback is. Reminds me of mass effect 3.

I am probably going to be in the minority here but Blade Runner 2049 was one of the dullest films I have ever seen...of any genre, never mind sci-fi. I was a big fan of the 1982 version so after seeing 5/5 reviews and high % on Rotten Tomatoes, had big expectations here. Trust me, even the 1982 cityscape look was done much better than this reboot. Very strange and seems like others watched a totally different film. Don't get me wrong, I knew this was going to be at the same pace as the original but that seemed like 100mph compared to Blade Runner 2049.

3/10. 1 for the fit hologram, 1 for Harrison Fords appearance and 1 for the all too brief "action".

I'm glad the action is brief. The trailer made it look like a full on action film.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story - usually a Star Wars fan (odd crap characters aside) but thought this was over-hyped garbage - couldn't connect with any of the characters and spent most of the film hoping they'd get killed off - seems the franchise has simply become an opportunity to make more money.....

I worry that'll be the case. I'm hoping the next two episodes move away from the copying of the original trilogy that the Force Awakens did and offers something different. Not Inception or anything as cerebral as that but something that challenges the audience in some way. Kylo Ren being redeemed or something like that. I hope the Jedi do end.

I love Star Wars and don't want franchise fatigue to set in this early. Enjoyed Rogue One though, even though there wasn't a lot of time to develop the characters.

  6. It. 8.5/10.

I really enjoyed it. Had more depth to it than your typical horror. After Super 8 and Stranger Things it seems Goonies style films are all the rage and there's plenty of good child actors around now. It was entertaining throughout but in the end wasn't that scary, when the miniseries did scare me (although I was a kid).

Maybe too much Pennywise in the end, the more you saw of him the less scary he became, although you could argue that was the point.

    Never going to happen :(

Casey Hudson has just been appointed the General Manager of Bioware again, so maybe it will.

Also, I think at some point in the future Lucasarts will want to have it made or something similar.

The leaned heavily on the prequels as Star Wars celebration this year, I thought. Wouldn't be surprised if the Han Solo film looks fairly prequelly and they're testing the water for future prequel projects I.e. Games and the obligatory Obi-Wan movie.

Love RLM's reviews, I probably watch them once a year. Great channel as a whole actually, if you was any of their other stuff.

They got Hayden Christiansen and Ian McDiarmid to appear didn't they? I think Ian McDiarmid could be doing some voice acting on Rebels and there was some concept art for The Force Awakens with Hayden Christiansen as a force ghost so maybe he could be coming back? I'm pretty sure Frank Oz hinted Yoda will be in the new one so it would make sense for Ben and Anakin to be as well.

Yeah I watched RedLetterMedia today actually trying to predict what will happen in Han Solo goes solo. I'll always like them for introducing me to Miami Connection which might be my favourite so bad that it's good film. Or did Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon introduce me to that? I forget. Great film anyway.

Hate the prequels but aesthetically I'm a big fan of them. I was 5 by the time Attack of the Clones came out so I played a lot of the games and had a lot of the toys as a kid, so I'm perfectly happy playing prequel stuff.

Me and my mate still play Battlefront together a fair bit, managed to nab the season pass on the cheap so it's still fun. Excited for Battlefront II, looks like a big upgrade and change in style.

They're terrible films but I can sort of appreciate Lucas was going for something different. I'm coming round to seeing the prequels as something I can get used to if I don't think about them too much, a bit like an ugly lass if I have a few too many to drink and squint.

RedLetterMedia's reviews of the films are better than the films themselves.
