  1. Firstly I must say thank you Mostyn for your advice a few months ago I feel a lot better within myself. You get good days and bad days but the bad days are less frequent. Secondly, David that is very brave of you to post that. I'm also an anxiety sufferor. From what I'm aware, you can never truly get rid of it but you can relieve the symptoms. The first step is admitting you suffer from it which you have, which is in the step in the right direction. Anxiety panic attacks are awful and I fully understand. The only thing I could really recommend is to have an exercise regime and eat more healthy. I replaced the unhealthy sugars with the healthy sugars in things like fruit combined with exercise and it has helped to relieve some symptoms. It's a bit off cliche but it really does help because it helps you to become more confident in yourself and makes you less wary about what others will say.

  2. Some realistic suggestions for us to sign this January:

Iheanacho- not going to play much for City with the arrival of Gabriel Jesus. Could definitely play the super sub for role for us if when Nugent gets tired in games.

Ben Davies- Not really playing for Spurs because of the brilliant form of Danny Rose. We are arguably just as big as Spurs so we will definitely be able to attract a player of this calibure.

Cesc Fabregas- why not? We could go in for a cheeky loan bid because he is behind Matic and Kante in the Chelsea pecking order. Him and Hughes would run the show in the championship.

Robert Snodgrass- Hull are a much smaller much than Derby and are in disarray at the moment behind the scenes. We have lots of  Scottish players in the squad so it would be an easy transition for him and he would fill the left wing spot.

Benteke- clearly isn't happy at Palace and it's well documented that Big Sam wants him out. He could easily fit into the Chris Martin role.

Daniel Sturridge- Not getting much football at Liverpool at the moment and is clearly in need of first team action. I think it would be an honour for him to come here to work under the former England manager and to get a word of wisdom from Darren Bent

James Rodriguez- world class player and isn't getting much action at Real Madrid. This may seem a bit ambitious and according to my calculations this only has a 5/10 chance of happening. However, he is being linked with a move to China which is a much lower standard than the championship so why not? If I was Mel I'd break the bank to get him and it would help the Derby County merchandise and global support throughout South America which can only be a good thing. We'd make all the money back from shirt sales with a little help from Niall Horan who could persuade one direction fans to buy the shirts. The only doubt over this player is whether he fulfils the Johnny Russell role? Sure he is a good player but if he isn't motivated to run back and defend then I wouldn't sign him.

When fit, Thorne is a superb reader of a game, defensively and offensively. Not the quickest but his anticipation to sniff out danger more than makes up for any lack of pace and his ability to spot a forward run and make the right pass means that the other midfielders are able to play that bit further forward. We miss him but sadly I don't think we can count on him being regularly available so need to find an alternative. Currently that's Johnson but whilst the defensive side of his game is sound, he's unable to spot that killer pass so the likes of Hughes and Butterfield have to drop deeper to create the link with the front three, leaving us short in the final third.

I've said this many times now. If we have Thorne for at least 42+ games of a season we would have been in the prem by now. Class player but sadly gets injured a lot.

Whenever I doubt whether we can rely on Thorne, I always come back to this video and it makes me change my mind. He looked so lean in the clip away against Brentford in comparison to how he was last season.

  4. Johnson's been fantastic in the cdm role for us recently but I do think we are missing Thorne's ability to big out a pass in the midfield especially in games like today and against teams who sit deep against us. I may be wrong but I don't think we have ever been beaten more than a two goal margin with George in the team(someone correct me if that's false). That's not Johnson's fault. He never has and never will be a midfielder to spray it around like Thorne. Johnson's more like a bulldog on the pitch who uses his physical presence on the pitch.

  5. I think we need a left back, centre mid, left winger and striker, although I can't see us getting all 4 in the January transfer window. Thought of some players we could potentially go for whilst having a wash so you'd hope that the recruitment team have at least 50-100 targets for each position

    Some suggestions:

Left back: Joe gomez(loan)(Liverpool), Angelino(loan)(Man City), Matt Targett(loan)(Southampton)

    Centre mid(needs to be box-to-box): Conor Hourihane(Barnsley), Ruben Loftus-Cheek(loan)(Chelsea), Marko Grujic(loan)(liverpool)

    Left wing: Bakary Sako(Crystal Palace), Charly Musonda(loan)(Chelsea), Kapustka(loan)(Leicester), Sobhi(loan)(Stoke)

    Striker: Chris Martin(Fulham), Arouna Kone(loan)(Everton), Adebayor(Free agent), Yaya Sanogo(loan)(Arsenal)

I feel like an idiot to go on about players we haven't been linked to at all, but I'll be really gutted if we're not even considering Hourihane.

He seems like the sort of player who'd relish the freedom of playing in a 4-3-3, he's young, he's already one of the best CM's in the league, he scores goals and his contract is up in 6 months.

I'm struggling to see why he isn't a player we should be going to the lengths of the earth to get, we've got the recruitment team that went all out to get Raul Albentosa two years ago and really let us know they did so. I hope they show that same commitment again...for the players I want, that is.

And he scored against Florist today. I'd love him here

if there's one thing you should know, you should never feel like your own feelings, if though you perhaps cannot explain and understand them, are irrelevant on the basis of comparison.

The whole reason I started this thread was because I was consumed and confused. Consumed by a heavy sadness, and confused as to why, when I have no relative reason (compared to others).

It became apparent from this thread that there is a massive spectrum from being aware you feel a bit low, to being on the brink of suicide, and beyond.

I cannot tell you what to do, and I cannot and will not tell you to ignore your feelings, but one or two things I will advise, take an hour and read through this thread, it will amaze you what you relate to and what you pick up. I will also say, talk to someone, anyone, it doesn't matter who, just saying it will be massively therapeutic and will trigger the recovery (or dealing with) process. Also, if weights aren't working, change the exercise for something else, if you're in a rut or regime, you won't feel a sense of achievement and a challenge.

All said and done mate, you are not alone in your feelings. You never will be. Hope things improve for you, and if you ever want to PM me, please do so. I have PMd others off the back of this thread, and it helped me, and others have PMd me, and I sincerely hope just talking helped them.

Thanks for responding and in depth Mostyn I am grateful. I must admit that before I was ignorant about things like Depression but experiencing something similar has made me open my eyes

  8. I was hesitant to post this on here incase it comes across that I'm attention seeking but I can assure you I'm not, I just need to get this off my chest somewhere. I don't want to say that I think I have a form of depression as such because I don't believe that's fair on people who genuinely have it but over the last year or so I've been really down. I don't know what the particular cause of it was, maybe a collection of factors such as stresses with work or such but every day seems like a slog to get through. Even the so called good things that I used to like doing before now make me upset and down now and it feels like a ton of bricks have just fallen upon me. The good days are ok but the bad days which seem to be on a regular basis now are really ****. I now more pessimistic than I ever have been in my life. I don't feel that I can talk to any family relatives or friends because I feel they won't understand and I'm hesitant to even get a diagnosis from the doctors because I had some problems when I was younger which were just brushed off by them. I've tried doing physical activities like lifting weights which I must admit helped for a short while to take my mind off things but even doing that seems like a slog. Sorry for this massive piece of text but can anyone with similar experiences in the past possibly give me advice about how to get through this period? I thought this was just what every normal person experiences but I'm convinced it's something more than that

  9. My personal changes in January

Out: Camara- I like him but if he doesn't get in the squad is there any point in keeping him, especially when we have 4 'wingers'?

Blackman- I like him as well and feel we haven't seen his true potential but I simply don't see where he fits, we don't even know his best position

Martin- If he keeps up his good form Fulham are going to buy him

In: Wickham on loan- may not be the most prolific of strikers but fulfils McClaren's target man forward and works his socks off, may be a clever option if Martin leaves permanently. The good thing about getting him on loan is that if he is a complete flop, we will send him back at the end of the season anyway

Callum Paterson- Despite Christie's brilliant performance yesterday, I still feel we need another right back because his performances fluctuate and his contract runs out at the end of the season. Baird is solid but is he a long term option? Nope. We also have 3 solid left backs in Lowe, Olsson and Forsyth but in contrast, the rb position is a little unbalanced in terms of personnel.

Men in the gym changing rooms who are a bit too uninhibited.

I'm no prude but sometimes I swear it feels like I'm an extra in some soft flick.

On a similar topic, people who come and stand right next to you when you're having a wee in the urinal. I thought there was an unwritten rule and there must be at least 1 gap space?

Sums up any offline football games/modes. Where's the fun in playing AI when you could play other people?

I'm now getting sent off at every game for Newcastle just to go through and watch the cut scenes. No doubt I'll get tipped for an England call up still.

Spoken truly like someone who plays on amateur :p

I didn't really think either of the sequels lived up to the original MW. MW2 wasn't bad, but MW3 I really didn't enjoy much at all. Soap's death just came across as incredibly cheap and a lazy play for shocks.

I like Gaz, shame he dies. At least Craig Fairbrass got to come back for MW2 though, although he suffers a similar fate again!

I remember the theories that Ghost was actually Gaz because they had the same voice actor and they thought Gaz was saved when the Russian allies came down from the helicopters at the end of modern warfare, probably from people who couldn't accept Gaz's death like myself  Then again I don't blame them because Zakaev somehow survived getting his arm shot off with a sniper rifle, despite the large amount of blood loss. Man I miss those days, the call of dutys nowadays just don't do it for me.

Early access. SP campaign only, the MP unlocks next month.

Great idea though, I've been able to finish up with the campaign so it'll be straight into MP next month.

Can't bring myself to play the campaign again because in the original modern warfare I got really upset when Gaz died, although not as angry as I did when soap died in mw2 . Gaz is probably my favourite character in the series. The modern warfare series probably had the best campaign out of all of the call of dutys. Shame mw3 landed on a cliffhanger with captain price lighting a cigar before presumably being arrested .

Sorry for any spoilers but I imagine you know what happens by now
