  1. As a few have said, we need to make sure we dont expect too much too soon from him.

One thing fans & journos have said is when at Charlton, teams used to have to double up on him. Currently they try to do that to NML, so with CBT in the team they wont be able to double up on both of them meaning 1 will be in space to cause some damage....or if they do, that will create alot of space for others....so this may mean he doesnt have the impact we may think he will in goals & assists but may play a part in an increase from other areas.

Purely because I think Sibbo and TJJ could make an exciting attacking partnership and when better to try it out than against a team low on confidence.

So you're dropping our top scorer & in form striker with 4 goals in the last 3 league games, in a difficult away game?

Anybody else worried about this one?  Past experience is that we always seem to have our pants down when it comes to transfers. I don’t like paying a fee for somebody in the last six months of their contract. I’m also worried that it’s not in the area of the field that I feel needs improving. oh well, I suppose that we have to get one transfer right eventually😀.

How can you not think we need another fast winger? If NML got injured we would be in trouble.

His stats are as good as NML's this season.

He is at the right age, will be pretty cheap (in football terms) & has all the attributes we are crying out for.

  4. I can see Warne going to a back 3 for this game woth Bradley in for TJJ as the only change to the 11 -

3421/343: Vickers - Nelson Bradley Cashin - Wilson Bird Hourihane Elder - Barkhuizen NML - Collins

Wildsmith Ward Smith Thompson Fornah Sibley TJJ

Personally id bring Wildsmith back in the starting 11 but dont think it will happen.

Its Nixon that's opened up the story/rumour on Smith, but I'm sure Sheffield Weds stated last week that he's not for sale. Perhaps it might be a loan deal that could be on the table, especially that he still has until June 2025 on his contract. So I'm guessing that we could'nt buy him and also buy CBT. Also think CBT would be the better option, being younger, a scorer of goals and makes assists. Smith, so far got just 3 goals in 14 league apps.

Nixon is stating its a loan we're after

Sav obviously won't say it outwardly but I bet he's angling to move Charlie on from there. Not much to be gained for a young player, or any player really, in that environment. I read somewhere they sacked the assistant last week because they couldn't afford him

I also think if the chance was there Sav would love for Charlie to join us

  7. I cant see Oduroh featuring, it would mean he cant go out on loan again which id imagine is what we want to do.

I dont think Burton will come away to us & play 2 up front so I think we will stick with a back 4. Nelson was set to play right back vs Fleetwood but Warne changed to a back 3 when he saw the Fleetwood lineup with 2 strikers, so i think Nelson may end up right back.

Vickers - Nelson Cashin Bradley Elder - Bird Hourihane - Barkhuizen Thompson NML - Collins

Wildsmith Wilson Fapetu Fornah Sibley TJJ Brown

I do think maybe Wilson might make the bench.

  8. Personally think we could do with 4 new players....

    Fast winger - CBT

    Centre Mid - Arblaster

    Attacking Mid - ???

    Striker - ???

A fast winger to help NML is obvious.

Arblaster would effectively replace the Embleton loan, maybe Smith out too? I can see Sibley going this month (if TJJ stays), so an attacking mid replacement. I see Dobra has been mentioned but whether it is him remains to be seen.

Then we need a forward with physicality & pace - Mubama would have been ideal but doubt that is possible now. Dont think Smith is the type of forward we currently need.

You would hope that all signings that were recruited to be starting and not just squad players - anyway that sounds like he is deflecting the abysmal performance tonight

No deflecting at all, answered a question he was asked. He also was very honest about how poor the performance was.

  10. Warne saying that we are so close to a couple of signings, reckons we will get at least 2 in at the top end. Says they're coming to be starters but if for some reason they're not as good as we think then they will have to wait their turn & will be squad players.

Also said tonight gives him some thoughts on who he might let go out too

Burnley have recalled Michael Mellon from his loan spell at Morecambe (apparently to send him back out on loan to a team higher up the Football League)... one can hope!

Probably joining Charlie Adam at Fleetwood, ex Burnley loan manager

When they found out he's injured, Warne stated something along the lines of he's gone back to treatment, but he hopes their paths cross again in the future. That suggests to me he won't be coming back, but we may be stuck with paying his wages for the season unless theres a clause for us to end the loan or Sunderland do us a favour and recall him

Im sure it was stated at the time there was a clause in Jan for him to potentially go back. Dont know who is able to exercise that clause though
