One major problem is referees apparently will not issue two yellow cards for time wasting, therefore a red. Players know this, as well as taking turns to waste time.
Give Ipswich their due. They’d done their homework.
Having watched the Rams for nearly 40 years I am shocked to discover that easily the worst level of time wasting is found in League One.
The standard of refereeing is equally shocking. I said at Barnsley when their first offside goal was allowed to stand, despite that idiot referee, who is despised in Scotland, going over to the linesman who had his flag up, we’re getting nothing out the refs in this division.
The disbelief after that fiasco yesterday around the ground, and the lack of clarity about what had happened, was almost unique. The linesman didn’t even raise his flag. I’ve heard the Ipswich commentary. They didn’t have a clue either.
    Something needs to be done.

I think the whole time wasting thing needs to be looked at differently. I think the team doing the time wasting should get a warning like an unofficial yellow card so all players know not to time waste then the next one to do it is sent off rather than let 4 different players get booked for doing the same thing.

There were better than us for sure. Energy all over the pitch, good movement ,quality on the ball, as good a side we've seen at PP this season. Morsy had the freedom of PP. But, 1-1 and it's a different game. What the lino saw, I' ll never know. Commentary on ITV highlights says foul on the keeper and he is standing there on his line with no one around him. Terrible decision.

If the reason for disallowing our goal was a foul on the keeper then we should have had a penalty for a push on Knight and in the first half the goalkeeper pushed McGoldrick when we had a corner. These refs have to be consistent. If the linesman gave a foul it was a guess whether a foul was committed but he must be thinking any guess decision must go against Derby so the officials have either been given a mandate or they just want to see Derby not succeed.

When I saw the replay on the concourse TV after my only thought was that Didzy had been pinged for offside and deemed “active” by being in the keepers eyeline. I was clearly clutching, but it was never a push!

Looking at that photo the goalkeeper would have pontoon eyes if Didzy was in his line of sight. One eye on stick the other on twist.

So if I’m reading that right… if one outfield player goes down with an injury, we just need to get another player to fake an injury at the same time and get a bit of treatment, and then both players can stay on the field?

So that’s why two players simultaneously got head injuries while the ball was out of play so they could stop play stop our rhythm and both stay on for the restart.

  5. DavesaRam has been saying it for years. I don’t think there’s a conspiracy I just think that is the standard we need to get used to. No VAR to show there was no push. I feel a bit hard done how the decision is alway against us.

Well that was quite an ill-tempered match. Lots of ugly challenges and timewasting throughout.

I was shocked to see Warne go to the 3 at the back today as it didn't work against us at Portman Road and his fortunes seemed to improve when he ditched it back in November. Not a lot changed when he made the switch today, but had he played a different system at the start, I wonder if Derby would have settled into the game better.

We started really well and the movement for Chaplin's goal was sublime. We didn't really capitalise beyond that though and Mendez-Laing clearly had the beating of Greg Leigh whenever he took him on. McGoldrick definitely should have done better with that header and I was happy we went into half-time still ahead.

I've only seen one replay of the disallowed goal but it looked harsh and there's every chance the game could have turned had it been given so it's a big what if. The referee was really poor, he lost control of the game and his decisions with yellow cards were very inconsistent. I'd be surprised if he gets given any of the important games in the run-in because even by League One standards, he was bad and couldn't get a grip on things.

I thought overall we dominated the game and took our chances well, neither team had too many clear cut opportunities but we did enough. The Cashin goal will understandably be the big talking point because it seemed to drain Derby's confidence thereafter.

There's still a long way to go though, most of the top 8 teams are either on amazing or awful runs of form which surely can't sustain itself for another month. As you probably know, Warne's Rotherham team went through some incredibly patchy spells either side of their winning runs.

Good luck for the rest of the season and maybe see you in the playoffs. Although hopefully not, in the nicest way possible!

That just about sums it up. I think Ipswich will go up automatically. I don’t know why they had to continually time waste that’s all you players got booked for.
In the first half when we were getting on top the goalie signalled to slow things down and two Ipswich players went down with head injuries while the ball was out of play.

    Told this before on heree.

He used to live in South Normanton and had a swimming pool.

I can neither confirm nor deny that I was one of several youths who when we were away in August or May used to climb over his fence and have a swim.

Is there a house in South Normanton with a swimming pool? Photo or it never happened.

What an example of this in the England game vs Italy midweek. Harry Kane takes a ball to the ribs from a corner, falls and ends up off the pitch. Then crawls back onto the pitch before collapsing and needing medical attention. Just pathetic!

I think you have to look at the officials who let him get away with it.
