Don't tell Mrs VdM but I've spelt his name consistently wrong.

It shoul.d be be Meikle ?

Your Miekle reminds me so much of my Lab Jet,she absolutely loved water and retrieving game from ponds, rivers.

She had Drakeshead lineage in her pedigree and as such was a good bitch for water retrieves.

    Hope all goes well.

It doesn’t bode well that the Championship’s best team from last season is getting absolutely battered in the Premier League.

It’s also worrying to see how easy it is for the likes of Norwich, West Brom, Fulham and Watford to bounce back at the first attempt.

Leeds are also struggling big time despite walking the Championship the other year.

It’s time for a PL2. Cut the Championship to 20 teams, create a better deal which gives clubs more money and watch the teams flourish.

English football is broken when so many Championship clubs are in debt while the gap between the top two leagues is this big.

Leeds wont struggle for long if they have players like Joe Gerhardt waiting to play first team football, came on as a substitute yesterday, wow what talent this 19 year old showed yesterday, going right to the top.

No beers were taken - and there must be 150 in the lounge.

I might have to cut back a bit though - I've spent 10 grand today (not on beer, I stress).

I'm having my garage completely demolished and a new one built, had my patio doors beefed up security-wise and spent over 2 grand on a fully-integrated top of the range home security system - even the whistles and bells come with whistles and bells.

Got a load more home improvements to make next year like a new shed, and having all the wiring in the house replaced.

Good to hear you have upgraded your security.

  4. Trevor Hemmings, the owner of Preston Northend, and 3 times owner of the winner of The Grand National, whose horses ran in his famous yellow and green quartered colours died last night aged 86.Owner of The Blackpool Tower, among many other businesses,he bought PNE in the 70,s when they were in financial trouble.I would think their players will be wearing black armbands on Saturday, and the usual 2 minuites silence before Saturdays game.

Ivermectin a drug used for de-worming horses. A drug that the company that manufactures it, who  know exactly what's in it and  are telling people not to use it, as it has no benifit in the treatment of covid. A drug that has not only lead to people becoming seriously ill but sadly the death of many Americans who were  supid enough to take a drug designed for animals.

I find it amusing that many of the people decrying the use of vaccines that they claim are untested. Are the same people who earlier in the pandemic were extolling the virtues of hydroxychloroquine and are now championing the use of Ivermectin in the treatment of covid.

My wife has just shown me a message on Indian TV,Akaal,of a young Indian man who wanted to fly to the UK,on arrival at Indira Gandhi in Delhi,he was asked for his innoculation papers, and was told he didnt have the right injection papers,he rang his parents in Delhi, and was told to wait at airport while they got him the "right papers"he got the papers after 2 hours(obviously forged)and has boarded Air India and is on his way to London, and is happily spreading his germs around the uk.

And then I wondered why there were 40,000 new cases in the uk yesterday yesterday, obvious to me know when people will "cheat the system" to get their children into England

At the moment, I'm almost immobile - can't even get out into the garden.

Had a terrible reaction to a moisturiser which I have to use, and all the skin on both my legs is sloughing off (think dandruff an inch across - but dandruff that's bloody painful too). Waiting for the steroid cream to take effect now. Last time, it took a month, but then I had cellulitis. This time, at least, there is no infection.

It might explain why I am even grumpier than usual.

The beer situation is reasonably healthy - 30 large bottles of Tripel Karmeleit, 12 bottles of Straffe Quad, 10 bottles of Straffe Tripel, half a dozen Gulden Draaks, 4 dozen German beers (half Oktoberfests, half Doppelbocks), 2 dozen Tynt Meadow, about 100 assorted Belgians in 33 cl bottles and an order each from BIAB and Beers of Europe on the way.

If I pace myself, they might last the weekend.

Hope you feel better soon Eddie

Brazilian footballer William Ribeiro charged with attempted murder after kicking referee unconscious

William Ribeiro kicked referee Rodrigo Crivellaro twice during the second half of a match in the Sao Paulo state’s second tier before he was arrested at the stadium.

Bonkers! This is the Brazilian equivalent of the Championship too ?‍♂️

Wow,he needs locking away somewhere where the kickers get their heads kicked, maybe the football team in the jail could use his head for a change.

  8. 1.Can anyone tell me more about the curse,I know it happened while we were playing at The Baseball Ground, but was the curse on the ground only,or did it encompass the whole of DCFC,owners, players, playing staff etc.

2.How long was this curse placed for ?

3.was the said curse exorcised, and if so was the exorscism carried out by a priest,or a white witch,or some other source.

4.Is it still possible that the effects of the said curse is still having an effect, just think back to all the bad luck we have been having.

    5. Anyone else think it might be an idea to have all parts of Pride Park blessed by a priest, holy water, prayers etc.

And before any one questions my sanity,I am of a sound mind, ideas anyone

Love the old songs, the john o hare one as well, they are probably to tame for fans today.

Singing is rife at football matches, even this last week at the Sparta Prague/Rangers match, thousands of school age children were singing at Kammara,it will never be stopped, unless they stop admitting fans, and no one wants that.A lot of this behaviour could be stopped by the parents.

A well deserved win against a poor Reading team, Why were Reading poor...because we made them look poor, Our hassling them when they were trying to play from the back...is something we're fully aware of, A couple of dicey moments with CD playing their man in and a free header that was put wide, Allsop was steady, He had very little to do, A couple of shots theat were dealt with, Pleased for Forsyth that header and placement wasn't easy, Back 4 resiliant, Shinnie and Bird looked in command, Morrison and Knight were excellent, Baldock struggles as a lone striker but doesa a job, Lawrence looked better than his usual self, That freekick that sailed over the bar by a good margin made my eyes go ?, Nice to see us in the plus bracket.

A special mention to the fool in the middle, There was a time yonks ago when English refs were the envy of the world, Now we can't even scrape the barrell, Not a problem with Stearman being booked, I have a problem when he lets their player off for doing the same, The handball and Morrison being fouled on the edge of the box...another day another ref and it's a Pen and a freekick, His overall handling was poor, What were fouls on us were overlooked, But fouls on them were given, Cobstantly in Allsops ear 2nd half for his slow recovery of the ball, Not into conspiracy theories...but my was he poor.

Number 14 was playing in gloves for Reading, and its only 29th September, will he be playing in a track suit in December

It seems to me a very bad state of affairs when 50,000 supporters can lose their Saturday entertainment through the ineficiency of the clubs owner in running the club beyond his means.

Also when the said owner tells the clubs fans he has pumped in 200 million into the club, does he not realise that so many fans have paid for season tickets, and match tickets they could properly afford.Morris should be put into administration, his riches stripped from him,and used to pay his debts(no it is not the clubs debt,Morris was the one who got us into this mess.

I wonder how he can sleep at night when tomorrow he will be telling many people they will at best be paid for less hours and at worst they will be loosing their jobs

should read could not properly afford
