But as well as being expensive, the proper ones come in 3 bits... not great with all seats out, and in and out with camping gear. And no, I can't afford a brand new Transporter... it was either this new company van, or a lesser value pay rise, so opted for the van, and in the process, I have now got rid of my personal Ford Galaxy, and the associated monthly (finance) repayments, insurance, and VED. Nice! 😁 Got to kit it out myself though... hence the cheap carpet option! 🤣

Not worthy of a new thread, but a bump of this one should suffice... Looking for semi-decent carpeting for the back of my new van, which I'm collecting in a couple of hours, so if anyone has any recommendations, I'm all ears! Grey or black preferred, but not a deal-breaker! There's a 2+1 seat arrangement in the back. I'm happy to cut out for seat fittings (and lashing points) if need be, as I'd like the carpet to be in one piece, from the back of the front seats (1+1) to the rear tailgate threshold. Would prefer hemmed, so I'm just trying to avoid an end-of-roll remnant from a domestic carpet shop! 🤣 The "scatterd rug" look is a tad too hipster for me, too! 👀 There are options for multi-piece vehicle-specific carpets, (Some of which are far too expensive for my liking!) shaped and hemmed around that second row of seats, with a larger carpet for the main "empty" rear (behind those seats). But I'm not so keen on the multi piece option though, hence my desire for a "Covers the lot" option. (There may be times when all 3 rear seats come out, for camping abroad?) If it matters, the van is a VW Transporter T6.1 Highline Kombi - SWB - Sliding door each side. If I can get the desired effect for a £100 or less, I'll be delighted! 😎 I'll do some digging of course, but if anyone has any suggestions, it'd be appreciated. Cheers. 🍻

Yeah. Fair do's. But is the reason that it's never been as popular simply down to the ease of which it can be spread around the planet? We had The Green 'un, the Sunday papers, local wireless, and eventually the odd highlights show. Live FA Cup final was about the limit... but half the households either didn't have a telly on which to watch it, the aerial had blown down, or they didn't have a coin for the rental meter! Is it more popular because it's better? Or because of what the youngsters refer to as "The World Wide Web"? 🤷‍♂️

I'm a big fan of the "We are only 8 points off second place/Auto promotion after 16 games, and there's plenty of time/30 games remaining for us to pull that back" viewpoint. ... But... If I were to start drinking the Devil's Advocaat... it could be fairly argued that we have lost ground by 0.5 points per game thus far. Carry that through to the season's end, and we could finish up being 23 points off the Auto spots. The latter, I'm not such a big fan of! 😲

That's a fair point, in all honesty. I'm sure many... if not all... of us would have been the same at that age. I could probably still name the two teams for each FA cup final over a decade back in the day. At least recognising and appreciating the top players throughout my teens was certainly a thing. Maybe it's not football that's changing as much as we may think it is? Maybe it's us fans that are changing (through age, I guess)? 🤷‍♂️

The only reason I'm still involved is thanks to... or the fault of... one Mr David Clowes. Heaven forbid, had the unthinkable actually happened, there's no way I'd be showing any interest in football now. I truly couldn't tell you who played in the last game I watched (full, or even highlights) that didn't involve The Rams. I'd imagine it was the last England WC (proper) game? WC & Euro qualifiers... Champions League... Match of the day... Live Prem and/or EFL games... Local parks...small time amateurs... none of it interests me, and hasn't for some time. I doubt I'd recognise any more than a dozen players names from the Prem, and I'd be amazed if I could match more than a handful of prem players to their current club. Even my participation on here is based on 40% Love of DCFC, and 60% "banter with the gang"! I don't even put this apathy down to "strong morals"... I'm just bored with the wider game, full stop. Disillusioned, I guess! Diving, money, VAR, Rich v Poor, too many games played, too many live games on the various TV options, the over-analysis of it all.
