Technically, I could make it, but I'm up at 3am Wednesday heading for an early Eurotunnel, 6 hours driving, and a 36kg tent to put up in the bamford rain (As the forecast currently predicts!) IF we were doing ok, I'd have still made the effort, and put up with minimal sleep. Be that results/league position/recent form/attractive/entertaining football etc. As we're a little short on all points just lately, I'll not be bothering. There's simply not enough on offer to tempt me tomorrow night, all things considered. As it stands, I'm nowhere near the point I was at under Young Nigel's reign towards the end, so I'm currently still planning on turning up on cold winter nights to come... "Currently", I said! 😉 Here's to me missing an absolute cracker, and regretting such a stupid half-fan decision! 🐏

I've been more than eager enough to "give him time". I was thinking "At least until Christmas, with a review at that stage". I'm still happy to hang on in there, even missing out this season... as long as we definitely go up next season... which of course, comes with major if not catastrophic potential risks! 😲 I therefore appreciate there are massive flaws to such a plan... potentially at least. As a fan, I'm now getting twitchy, whilst appreciating the fact it ain't me who makes the decisions!

That's just weird! A queue of suitors a mile long would not detract from the fact that it was DC who did the stepping in and saving. It's irrelevant who was stood in the wings. Nobody is claiming it was DC or bust! *If Wildsmith saves a penalty, would you claim it was untrue because Vickers was on the bench?

Imagine... he holds fire... and in 2.5 years from now, Warnes scrapes us through the luckiest PO final ever...yep, even luckier than QPR. On a technicality, DC could then claim it was a wise decision all along. Viva la patience, and all that! He may well be hoping against hope. He may well live to regret it... but it is his only hope for now! I wouldn't like to call it... I don't know anywhere near enough about the man, our saviour. 🐏

If DC sacks him now, is that a sign that he'd already made a bad business decision, by bringing Warne in in the first place? I suspect it would... and I suspect this is in the back of DC's mind. We're "just off Beaufort Street", and on the very edge of the flood plain (just inside the "Middle-of-the-street" boundary line, which affects our home insurance premiums!) (The houses opposite are slightly higher, and rising). So basically Darley Park... Chester Green... Racecourse... then us. I have had about a dozen texts and auto calls this morning from "Floodline" warning of high alerts and "Danger to life". I don't recall ever seeing the racecourse flooded, in my 60 years of living locally, but I guess now they've put in those flood gate things to protect their precious council house, I should never say never!
