  1. 1... 8... 8... 4. ... Just like the rest of us on here. Write it down somewhere, if need be. #you sir, are most welcome. 😁
  2. I can't even claim to be the good looking one, with those options! ... And you can tell them I said so! *Don't mention my name v2. 👀
  3. Yeah. That wor mine. Cost me £3, sold it him for a tenner. What a mug! 🤓 Someone should go over and tell him what a complete numpty he is! ... Don't mention my name. 👀
  4. That's called "Getting away with it" ... Or "How to be a complete knobjockey whilst still managing to avoid the attention of 25k fellow attendees, and a live TV audience of a few million".
  5. Nunca antes había visto a ese hombre en mi vida, señor.
  6. Bundled out the back door (of the court), and into a waiting car to be whisked away. Kicked off his local footy and cricket teams, by all accounts. Told he's "not welcome" in the village boozers, and will likely be "officially barred" anytime soon. ... And even a FORMER employer (of > 3 years ago) has got in on the act, with their website homepage announcement... https://www.jri-ltd.com/ #abitofashitweekhe'shaving
  7. I don't ever recall a telegraph pole featuring in my dreams... and I must pass at least one every day! Same could be said for rubber car mats I guess, and I put my feet down on one every day! #pointless debate #ridiculous topic #wtf #dear oh dear #no, seriously #etc, etc...
  8. somewhere in France… some time last month… #snigger
  9. You don't even need to be decent in any way, to not consider doing something like this. It wouldn't even enter the heads of anyone who were not pure scum. I'm utterly flummoxed as to how... why... just... well, flummoxed! tis all.
  10. Gutted. Legend... no, no... an actual legend, not one of those tin-pot modern day legends you hear about nowadays. Just watched again, the clip of THAT goal at Maine Road, so I write this with tears in my eyes, and goosebumps up my arms. Such sad, sad news. Gutted, I say. RIP Francis Lee. CBE xxx
  11. BEWARE OF T'RAMS! Away win 1 - 2 Waggers
  12. The reasoning behind my own query was due to someone on here remarking that they were aimed at the team (Or Warne? Can't remember now, but was definitely DCFC, not the officials). 🤷‍♂️ That took be by surprise in all honesty, hence me querying it. Live and at the scene, I just took it as being aimed at the ref... as I dashed out down the stairs, silently frustrated at the whole afternoon! *I bet if we could do a poll of all those actually booing, I'd wager 60% wouldn't know why, or to whom they were aimed, and they'd tick the box marked "Because others were"! 👀
  13. Cheers. Forgot to add... I didn't notice how the game recommenced either (thus adding to my curiosity), but I think that was due to having something in my eye! 👍🍻
  14. Rumours abound that said booing was aimed solely at the officials, not DCFC players/management/ownership? I guess only those that booed could answer that with any certainty, so I can only make assumptions myself. 🤷‍♂️
  15. Quickly twigged the applause was starting, and a quick glance at the clock (showing 31 mins) confirmed my suspicions, thanks to @CBRammette's related post on here yesterday, so quickly stood to join the masses. I soon noticed that play had stopped, and that players (of both sides) were joining in... as well as the benches and even the officials too. The only thing I didn't notice was when/how the game stopped? Was it an official signal from the ref? Was it a case of the ball going out of touch (or becoming dead due to a foul etc) by coincidence, and then a deliberate act to not immediately restart? It matters not, of course... am merely curious. 🤷‍♂️ Either way, as already stated, it was most moving, and for want of a more appropriate phrase under such sad circumstances, rather magnificent. 🤍
  16. I didn't read any further, as I was becoming a little agitated, with hints of trauma-induced fear at the thoughts of what might come next! 😲 I can only hope and pray that, given the length of the remaining post, all ended well, and everyone... be that those directly involved and/or those on the periphery of the scene... made it through the day without getting killed! 👀
  17. Agree with that... with the exception of the last three words, as I don't feel it's my place to tell people how to react. I'd say it was: Somewhat promising. Definitely frustrating. Definitely NOT terrible/clueless/lacklustre/inept etc, etc. Not a time for ripping up contracts and/or paying off employees. Not a time for fans to start throwing season tickets in the bin, or making a conscious vow to stay away etc, etc...
  18. In his defence (no pun intended) Nigel wasn’t always negative… ”Nigel Clough is telling them to carry on… “Carry on” he’s saying…” … and we did… and we only had ten men! 👀
  19. Any boo’ers on here? I’d be interested to learn who the full time boos were aimed at! Ref? Players? Warne? Clowes? Other? 🤷‍♂️
  20. I deliberately and consciously missed a few games during Nigel’s reign. Mostly mid-week winter games, but not exclusively so. I haven’t reached that point yet… but I hear there’s another winter coming! We’ll see, I guess…
  21. Why did our leading goal scorer start with a ban from entering the area, and an order to take all free kicks and corners? Why is it always the final pass that goes awry, and not one of the passes preceding it? We need to cut out those final passes! Why are we so inept in the final third? Perhaps we need to split the pitch into four, and see how we do in quarters! Since the new rule about showing the added mins, why does the main screen clock (correctly) run to 90min+, but the South Stand clock reset the second half at 00mins? Get a new South Stand clock, if it can’t cope with showing the first half added mins then resetting at 45 for the second half! Why was I stupid enough to ignore the recent past performances, and set off full of deliberate ignorance and misguided positivity? When will I ever learn!
  22. Didn’t know about the big screen. (I’m in NE corner with restricted view) but the rest was very moving, and made me feel a tad emotional in all honesty. A truly wonderful coming together, and I’m tempted to say it couldn’t have been bettered. Perfectly beautiful. Beautifully perfect. … and without doubt, THE highlight of the day! xxx
  23. Almost feels like the first match of the season for me! I’ll be turning up with a smile on my face, hope in my heart, air in my lungs, and expectation at blue sky level. I’ll be skipping up the stairs to my seat, belting out the words to SBW in perfect synchronicity with those all around (leave it! 🙄), and cheering with gusto from the first whistle to the last. The past matters not. The past is gone. Onwards we march. Today Matthew, I’m gonna be Mr Positivity. Today, I make myself heard. Join me one and all, why don’t yer! Make Pride Park proud again. #bringbackthebuzz Happy new season everyone. Here’s to the coming success! 🐏
  24. A decade or so ago, I'd have been heading straight for M&S instead of typing this! A bit too sweet for me nowadays unfortunately, both from a taste point of view, and also from a spouse-induced nagging point of view! Sad to say, it's now a no from me... but thanks for the dream. 🍻
