It appears pretty straightforward we have agreed a deal at a particular fee where he comes to Derby after the game on Thursday. He is travelling over today for a medical. The deal agreed will be legally binding on both clubs. So if he gets through Thursdays game injury free he is our player. They won’t be able to sell him to anyone else in the meantime 

We arnt going to ship out Collins as we have just resigned him. I would rather have Collins than Smith anyway

So the zoom call Tuesday isn’t  likely to be him if he has been over on Monday

My concerns;
Individually and collectively both Chesterfield and Shrewsbury have looked better than us
There is no real evolving pattern of play with only 2 pre season games left
We have conceded 6 goals in the last games last season defence was our strength
We have barely created a single clear cut chance from open play across the preseason games
There is no fluidity to our play it all looks disjointed and sporadic. It is not easy to suddenly up your game when the season starts if you haven’t got into good habits in preseason 

It pre season blah blah it doesn’t matter blah blah perhaps the results don’t but performances do you want to see progress throughout the games and a pattern of play emerging. I have watched 2 games where we have barely strung a single effective pattern of play together we are defensively naive and not scoring goals. But don’t worry it will all just slot into place when the season starts. It might but at the moment it’s looking doubtful

There are a couple of preseason games left before we start this season proper. When do you suggest we start working on patterns of play and formations? Christmas?

Yeah it was lucky for Chesterfield it wasn’t pre season for them and they weren’t trying to bed in new players and try things out. Also it couldn’t  have helped that there new main striker was out injured that must be why they struggled to score 

I will continue to go to games like I did last night and if I think it’s justified I will continue get angry when we don’t perform because I care. My expectations for next season are anything above relegation is a bonus but that doesn’t mean I will accept cr@p performances because my expectations are low. If we lose when we have done our best or have been outplayed by patently better sides so be it. If we are not meeting our own minimum standards that needs calling out.

So he is t allowed to comment on the debacle unfolding in front of him because of a preseason game 15 years ago
