It was amazing!!! Anyone calling the pitch invasion 'tinpot' can in my view get in the bin. I've never known an atmosphere like it at Pride Park as all 4 stands really got involved and revelled in the moment. Our flag game was very strong and it was quite a spectacle. I just hope we continue to keep up this level of support next season. COYR

Perhaps the solution is for the club to announce should we win or draw Adams will sign a new contract, pre-contract or whatever after the final whistle as long as fans stay off pitch

Invading the pitch would spoil the celebrations of many fans sat above ground level access to the pitch. Why can’t people wait and let the players /staff do their lap of honour so everyone can see, join in and applaud the efforts made during the season.

to my mind it is a selfish act to invade the pitch.

Adults should be able to follow a few rules. So, no, don't go on the pitch. No need.

Here's a random suggestion. Just don't invade the pitch!!!! Should everything go our way on Saturday,  just enjoy it from the stands.

I won't be on the pitch, I'm sitting near my mum. She gave me a right bollocking last time she caught me on the pitch, in 1983.

The club are not asking... they are telling... don't do it.
The law says... don't do it.
"The best way to gain promotion is by the Play-Offs" is oft-written... do they invade the pitch at Wembley?
Hysterically approaching a player who has yet to make himself safe by dashing down the tunnel, just to "Plant a big fat kiss" could (understandably) be misconstrued as a potential attack/assault.  Remember, there will be confusion, concern, and uncertainty from some quarters.
All it takes... literally... is one jubilant fan being tripped/nudged/held back by a viz'd up official whose sole job/instruction is to attempt to fend off a pitch invasion for the mood to change.  Just one defensive/evasive swing of the arm can be caught on the numerous cameras, and have you stood in the dock before you can say "I wish I'd listened to Uncle Mucker"!

I'm not a fan of pitch invasions - and I'm not being the fun police here, quite the opposite. As has been pointed out, it risks cancellation of laps of honour, presentations and a chance to actually see the players celebrate.
I'd rather watch PW start the bounce with an ecstatic squad with him than watch 22 knackered footballers run for their life towards the tunnel.
There is generally some numpty who assaults an opposing player - which is utterly cringeworthy.
It's easy to fix. EFL says non-negotiable 20 point deduction for mass pitch invasions like they apply a non-negotiable deduction for going into admin - and they just wouldn't happen.
I don't believe there is any realistic chance of a points deduction if there's a pitch invasion tomorrow but, if the EFL are genuinely concerned about player safety, they should bring in some rule for future seasons.

That's just you though. Can you vouch for all the others running on the pitch? I don't think anyone would deny that we have our fair share of morons. All it could take is for one Carlisle player to react to being blocked from reaching the tunnel and react in a way you might not expect.
I agree with @Ian Buxton's Bat's comment that a pitch invasion, whilst it might give a few their moment of jumping around on the pitch, it might deprive the majority of enjoying the bounce started by PW and the players (and their families) lap of appreciation (unless the pitch can be cleared fairly quickly).

if a player or indeed anyone gets hurt, then we are open to something even more severe. Our history with the EFL shows that would make an example of us. We don't want to throw away promotion if we do win.

In fairness, it appears you're asking the wrong person, in @Ilkestonian.
This should be aimed at those who have openly aired their intentions (on here) to invade the pitch at full time.
I've made my views clear.  But that's not to say I believe a pitch invasion will in itself lead to a points deduction, as I don't imagine it will for one moment.
My anti-invasion opinions are based on the fact that:
A/  The invaders will be going against the club's wishes, plans, and publicly announced statements, along with the laws of the land.
B/  The potential of those left in the stands missing the advertised "Lap of honour", due to it being cancelled should the pitch not be cleared in an appropriate timescale (There's only so much one man with a megaphone can achieve!).
C/  The potential for just ONE of the assumed thousands on the pitch doing something SO STUPID, that that in itself "COULD" lead to action being taken against the club, be that a fine, points deduction, or any other sanction the EFL has in their power.
Your question is a fair one.  It was just a poor aim.  👍🐏

I don't think there's any chance of a points deduction for a pitch invasion after the final whistle has gone bearing in mind that Reading only got a suspended three point deduction after their fans invaded the pitch and caused the match to be abandoned.
I still hope we don't have a pitch invasion at the end of the match though.

It'll be bittersweet for me come Saturday.
My lads decided to make a new life for himself, literally on the other side of the earth.
So we'll hopefully be celebrating, but in my mind I'll be thinking it may be the last time we ever stand together at Pride Park, at least for the foreseeable.
Still, we've had a good run, what better way to sign off than a promotion?

I'd expect Simpson to say exactly that, He's been in football a loooong time to know what to say when down with the dead men...but, Players are the ones who count, It's on the day, It's what frame of mind you're in, How many will be playing for their livelihood, How many expect to be moved on, Who is in the Simpson camp and who isn't...and most of all...who can be arsed?
They're down and relegated for a reason...they're not very good, If our players turn up and I expect every Derby player to do his duty 😊 then all will be fine.
Also I expect to be staggering home sometime on Saturday evening from visiting and talking to lots of like minded Derby fans in our boozers.
