James Wilson

Manchester United striker James Wilson is at the centre of a battle between  Championship rivals Derby County and Fulham.

Wilson has been cleared to leave on loan by new United manager Jose  Mourinho and Derby and Fulham are fighting to strike a deal before this  weekend.

The England under-21 international impressed on loan at Brighton last  season, scoring five goals in 28 appearances, but has not been given a  squad number by United ahead of the first half of this campaign.

His hopes of staking a claim under Mourinho have also diminished after the  summer signing of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and emergence of young striker Marcus  Rashford.

The 20-year-old is one of a number of players who will be allowed out on  loan, including Tyler Blackett and Will Keane.

Adnan Januzaj has already joined Sunderland on loan, while Donald Love and  Paddy McNair completed permanent moves to the Stadium of Light.

But Wilson has four years remaining on his contract and is highly thought  of by United’s backroom team, after being given his first-team debut by  Ryan Giggs in May 2014 and it is thought a loan move back to the  Championship will be beneficial for both parties.

No chance of a permanent mate. Very highly thought of at Man Utd and has only just signed a 4 year deal at Man U.

Id have him over Bent every day of the week. He offers a lot more.

If we keep Martin, I think he would be the only striker we would sign.

However if we were to sell Martin then we would sign another striker.

I thought the same but he didn't go on their 28 man pre season tour, and I read a while back that Fulham were set to sign him on loan with a view to a permanent. Now obviously that hasn't happened (yet), who knows.

Very good player, would be happy with this addition. He puts 100% into every game, so hard that he threw up a number of times for Brighton. Type of strong mentality we need. Actually this could be our new tactic, throw up all over the opposition players. Would that count as violent conduct?
