Player Suggestion Thread

In fairness, I think West Ham are looking to make much bigger signings then Maynard this summer. He could easilly be just a bench player for them this year. They could easilly send him out on loan to us.

Seeing the kind of players they are being linked with, a deal actually isnt out of the question.

Maynard won't get many chances in the Premier. If he came to Derby for a year long loan he would be picked to play every game and gain valuable experience. Let's hope for the best regardless how unlikely this might be.

I rate Nicky Maynard. He's got good pace, good movement and comes alive in the 18-yard box, but I'd be very surprised if he ended up here on loan.

Surely he'd want to stay at West Ham now they're in the Premier League and fight for his place? Granted he faces a struggle, being behind Vaz Te and Cole in the pecking order as it stands and then further behind if they bring in another striker.

But then you'd have to think well if he was made available on loan, why would he come here? We finished 12th last season and we are hardly sending out signals so far that we are looking to push on, entertaining offers for some of our key players.

If I was looking at it from a neutral perspective, there's probably clubs like Leeds, Leicester, Cardiff, Brighton, Middlesbrough, Birmingham, Wolves, Blackburn, Bolton and Blackpool who would all look a more attractive proposition.

Then you'd have to think, well his wages will have increased substantially moving from Bristol City to West Ham, how does he fit into our ever-shrinking wage structure? It would be a case of West Ham covering most if not all of his wages, surely?

If it happens, then it would be a fantastic signing and plenty of credit would go to Glick and Clough but I just find it rather unlikely.

Don't shoot me but would it be worth taking this guy on loan for the season with a view to a permanent deal seeing as we have the flick connection ?
