Bris Vegas
Do they sell Goat? popular in Caribbean areas and tastes similar Yeh they do, it's more expensive than other meats but if I make a batch I'll give it a go as I've never tried it. Incidently Goat is 'Chiva' in spanish (which you probably know) which is also the nickname of Chivas Guadalajara.. We have something in common with them! DerbyshireFox
I'm cooking this recipe now frogggy, left out the mango & sugar, don't have any garlic & ginger paste, so just chucked seperate powdered ones in, and left out the green chillies and chucked in 1 of my small, chopped red ones. Oh, and I didn't use ghee, don't have any, used a bit of olive oil instead. Have to say, it smells grand. Tell me how it went, ladyram 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

Incidently Goat is 'Chiva' in spanish (which you probably know) which is also the nickname of Chivas Guadalajara.. We have something in common with them! Definitely worth a go, I prefer lamb but goat is nice and works well as a substitute it lends itself quite well to curries as well especially as it can be a bit tougher and benefits from slow cooking in sauce - one thing to watch out for is it can be inconsistent as you are never sure whether you are getting a young or old goat unlike with lamb where it is more defined (lamb vs mutton). My Spanish is going to pot - it has been over 10 years since I used it on a regular basis, I get by OK if I need to (was in Spain this summer) but definitely rusty - trying to learn mandarin at the moment as all my wifes' family speak it - that is tough, having said that my 2 year old is already better than me

Dead easy but miles better than plain rice. [url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nzaUhL1KY_I]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nzaUhL1KY_I

Cloves should work just as well, it's just to infuse it but isn't overpowering.
DerbyshireFox
Cloves should work just aswell, it's just to infuse it but isn't overpowering. Came out perfect, thanks for that. I always leave the lid off when cooking 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> and rinse it in hot water after - hence sticky rice, but no more, thanks again.
