j.brayford
If you could only pick one thing to concentrate on which would it be? 1. A good cup run to get money in the bank Or 2. Getting the players geared up for a top six finish? You only have one choice what do you choose? for me I'd take a good cup run cash in the bank for summer transfers and a promotion push next year top half finish this:) Pointless thread but I thought might be a bit of fun 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />
EastKentRam
Cup run If this side, manager and board got promoted to the Prem we'd beat our own lowest points record.
Day
Top 6, no guarentees the money from a cup run would be used to strengthen the team. Also a top 6 would still put extra funds in the coffers from the 2 semi final games plus a chance of a trip to Wembley which would be unlikely in a cup run. CumbrianRam
I'd like Derby to be in a major cup final before I go.
RotherhamRam
As long as we can finish mid table would like a cup run to be excited over.
Jourdan
Top six finish, a promotion push and the potential for 38 cup ties. Getting promoted to the Premier League is only as daunting as you make it. Swansea, Norwich and QPR have all coped fine with the step up. Newcastle and West Brom both stayed up last year and Blackpool went down swinging. Wolves and Birmingham stayed up in 2009-10. I could go on. It's not easy going up and stabilising yourself as a Premier League club but far from impossible. But if you look where Stoke were when they went up compared to now, it gives everyone (even us) hope. CumbrianRam
The Premiership was probably at its strongest in 2008, 2009 there are at least 10 average sides in there now, but there are still much better than most Championship teams.
Bris Vegas
Can we change the title to 'Who would you prefer us to sign, Xavi or Iniesta?' As neither are going to happen Though I'd love us to get someone like Arsenal or Liverpool at PP in the FA Cup.. We'd get mauled mind
Jourdan
Plus if we were to get promoted, we could have the cup run the following year. We'd at least get past round one.
Mr Tibbs
I'd prefer a cup run at this moment in time. I'd be delighted with a top half finish however.
Ambitious
I'd definitely love to see us promoted, quality of the premiership seems to be getting poorer and poorer, year on year.. but I would like to take each game as it comes, as for Saturday rest the players that need resting, no need to go gun ho against Palace in the cup, would generate money but nothing that would dramatically change the club! Toadbelly
Definitely gear up for a top six finish. There is no way we do worse than last time we were promoted and if we are in the prem, I get to watch half the matches on TV over here. Does that sound selfish? I really don't care. UTR. Guest
Promotion, I want to see Derby winning matches, accepting a mid table finish is not good enough in my eyes....not that its going to happen though 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />

StaffsRam
Top six finish No way on earth would this side perform as badly, or worse, than Billy's Bottlers did.
EastKentRam
If this side got promoted it would get absolutely smashed almost every week, especially away from home. We get completely dominated by a lot of sides in this division away from home, think how it would be in the Prem. We would need to buy a whole new team. I reckon maybe Shackell and Ward could cut it, that's about it.
ramesses
A good cup run would just be asking for trouble. We’ll be playing one or two league games a week until the end of the season and I'm not sure we have the strength in depth to cover those games - let alone sustain a decent cup run as well. One or two injuries, especially to our back four, could derail our season. Our fragile first eleven need to be placed in warm cotton wool between games - not thrown into a quarter final against the likes of Stoke.
