It was from Derbycounty-Mad forum:

First post but was one of supporters that have met with Tom Glick recently. He responded to an e-mail I sent after the Doncaster debacle at PP. So sorry if this has been discussed before.

Firstly was impressed that he was prepared to talk to supporters - he suggested he had met a number of groups of about a dozen fans. Secondly was impressed by him. He seemed quite candid about the mistakes he felt he and the management team had made. He appeared forthright and certainly more knowledgeable (than I expected) about all elements of football from stabilising the youth academy management structure under Wassall (whether the manager is at DCFC or not) to the potential for the Football League to introduce a player salary cap of sorts based on say ''55% of revenue'' or a ''luxury tax system'' where those that go above the salary cap have to pay a tax to those clubs that stay within the cap.

He did suggest that Fielding, Robinson and Ward were virtually done deals and not part of the ''six proven championship players'' discussed by NC in the press. He felt that Derby needed 2 further Championship goalscorers up front and has been given a list of 5 such players as first choices. He felt we needed a ''leader in midfield'' to replace Savage and some creativity. That alongside Barker they would try to sign another Centre Half, another left-back and a multi-purpose defender who could play in a number of positions. He felt they could have a couple of long term loans. They are in talks with Liverpool over extending Ayala but might find it difficult to sign him early on because Liverpool might want a look at him during pre-season themselves. He felt the club missed out on Lansbury and would like to think if similar players came on the scene that Derby would be in for them.

Robinson, whilst not going to be a regular starter has the ability to scare the opposition just by running at them like a c*nt, believe me there is nothing worse than a bouncing ball when you've got someone like him running at it like a dog, there is only one winner in that battle.. in the championship this season he has started 14 games and came off the bench 8 times and grabbed 5 goals, if he can do a whole season in the same vain as a bit part player and scores around 10, then he's worth the money!

That sentence made me laugh and is true. if he doesn't cost too much he could be very could after a full pre-season and provide a different option.

As for Fielding at 500k i think its a good deal. i do think we need to get experienced back up in thats played premier league or consistant championship football. matt duke has been suggested and if he's cheap or free he will do fine.

Clough begins Derby rebuilding with triple swoop

Nigel Clough has kicked off his summer rebuilding at Derby with a triple swoop.

Clough has pounced to sign England Under-21 goalkeeper Frank Fielding from Blackburn in a £500,000 deal.

It's just a Mirror though...

Good old daily mirror, this comes an amazing 2 days after Clough says on radio derby that Fielding, ward and Robinson should be signed on May 9th

Rams get their man as Fielding signs

The Rams have announced that they have formally agreed to buy Frank Fielding from Blackburn. The fee is an initial £250,000, with the fee rising to £400,000 dependant on appearances.

Fielding an England U21 International was called up to the full England squad by Fabio Capello for a recent friendly against Hungary.

Frank is thought to be excited at the idea of playing regular first team football and looks forward to next season, he currently can't play for the Rams because of loan rules, hving already been at Pride Park for over 90 days.

It is now thought that for Rams number one keeper, Stephen Bywater may be surplus to requirements but there is no news of any move following his loan to Championship promotion contenders Cardiff City...

Sounds like a great deal if true.

Agreed, it's brilliant news! A keeper who has been in the England squad has been brought by us, even though he didn't start he still got into the squad for a reason.

and also the experienced central midfielder, sounds a lot like Bowyer.. all purpose defender, sounds a lot like Billy Jones, two strikers are anyones guess would say Le Fondre, Rhodes, Murray..etc are likely.

Hope the centre back is Ayala, sounds like we're in for a positive summer anyway, rather than another cost cut!

Really good signing if this turns out to be true. Excellent fee for us as well.

In hindsight it seems a shame that we sold two former England U21's who have both gone on to have good careers. Hopefully we'll stick with this one.

Lee Camp gone on to have a good career? in what world, he's playing in slum city for a half pint arsewipe.

I'd rather have a career scrapping **** off the pavement!

Really ? Because I bet Camp is on at least 10k a week, He's an international goalkeeper and plays for a team which could possibly achieve premier league football......
