Well lads just gave Liverpool one hell of the game they never knew what hit them and pushed one best team in European football and world champs all the freaking way and showed why league one and champership and why most premiership should fear derby county.

we will be back in premership in the very very near future.

Sorry to be a party pooper here, whilst that was one of the best clubs in European football, last night was not one of the best teams.

They made 11 changes, Tsimikas, Gomez and Carvalho are what you would call first team players, however none would start with a fully fit squad. Oxlade-Chamberlain is also a bench player at best now coming back from injury.

Firmino, Elliott and Nunez came on for just 25 minutes, had they played longer I’m not sure it would have reached penalties.

You are right to be proud though, it was a battling display and whilst not a strong Liverpool team, against up and coming players that would not look out of place at Championship level at least now.

Agreed and perhaps we shouldn’t claim to have taken ‘the real Liverpool’ to penalties but even last night’s side would survive in the Premier League.

It was a great comeback after Sunday’s disappointment.

A great morale booster but that’s all it is.

if we don’t follow it up with a good result against Mk dons it’s all irrelevant.

It was a very memorable day. We did Derby proud - Club, Team, Fans. We reminded the Football World that we’re still around and re-surfacing. We are a football city - we always have been - and we belong. For those reasons, it will never become irrelevant.
