National League Play Off Final

If you haven’t heard, It’s Grimsby Town v Solihull Moors at London Stadium on Sunday.

They claimed they needed a 50,000 seater stadium in case Wrexham and Notts County made it.

The cheapest ticket is £40, plus £3 booking fee per ticket and 99p digital delivery, £45 for a seat further up where you need binoculars to see the pitch.

Initially there were no concessions for under 16’s and after the League chairman tried to justify the prices, the sponsor has now weighed in suggesting they may help.

For comparison, the cheapest ticket for the Championship Play Off Final was £36.

But remember, football without fans is nothing….

Its pathetic, Wrexham, and Notts could easily have played at Villa Park, Manchester or Liverpool.

Derby or Leicester could have hosted Grimsby and Solihull.

All it takes is a bit of imagination and a football fan at heart to sort stuff like this out.

Wouldn’t take much at all. Have one Northern venue and one Southern venue booked ready, no point in sending fans into the capital where prices are insane.

Between Monday 2.15pm and Tuesday 10pm, Mariners Trust raised 20k from fans and local businesses to buy tickets for families that can’t afford them. That’s some effort for a club of that size.

Thought I would have a look to see how much it costs to get down there and back on the train. £107.70 return, but that's not the bad bit. Only one train which arrives in London (King's Cross) before kickoff (13:40) and two trains running after the game finishes (21:05 and 22:35)

Yeah and if you decide to go early, hotel prices are insane as it's Jubilee weekend. I guess they could not have foreseen this...

Can’t they summon the Dunkirk spirit and all sail down there and up the Thames?

Proper Cod army then.

The Thames White Bait fleet relocated to Grimsby many moons ago, as did the Youngs family operations from Essex, so many of them should know the way by instinct.
