Anuj Dal 11 runs away from a century batting with a one legged Ryan Sidebottom (again ?‍♂️) and Suranga Lakmal left to bat ?

Nothing to worry about, century for Dal, to go with his 2 stunning catches....just needs to bowl them out for the win now ?

So have we ever had a game where every batter has scored double digits where at least 10 have batted?

Hah, they were talking about this a lot on the bbc commentary because David Griffin the club photographer, statistician and general fountain of Derbyshire knowledge, was getting excited because it hadn’t happened where all 11 batsmen got into double figures since some time in the 1930’s I think they said.

Two players got triple figures.

Great clip of Mickey Arthur’s post match interview.

It’s easy to think, if only we could have turned one or two of these draws into a win. But when you think about how poor this team was last year, the turnaround with just the 2 international signings has been excellent. We also lost our best player in Critchley and Aitchison would be in the team if he wasn't injured.

The key phrase, which I know he's said before, is the plan being to become hard to beat first, and then progress from there. That first part is going well, only us and Middlesex remain unbeaten in the division and Middlesex we're saved by the weather today. It will be a big test against Notts next week.

We’ve had a couple of games where the balls got changed a lot.

I watched Rob Key’s interview with Nasser Hussain about him becoming the managing director of the England cricket team. Where he said he was happy with the pitches this season and talked about how at the end of his career he found facing medium pace county bowlers more difficult than when he faced the best bowlers in the world at test level.

Basically saying everything had got a bit too bowler friendly. Of course, you’ve got to keep the balance and not go too far the other way. There’s been times this season where once the ball has got old and soft that there’s been nothing there for the bowlers at all.

89-3 at lunch

First time we’ve been in a bit of trouble, Masood out for 18, then 2 wickets went in 2 balls, Godleman 11 and Madsen 0.

Guest 44 and Du Plooy 12 steadied the ship and saw us through to lunch.

Really strong bowling attack for Notts, whereas ours has been decimated. Apparently Lakmal is a elbow injury he has been playing with and needs a rest. Dal went down in the warmup, not sure what the injury is.
