I like him further forward with license to link with the forwards and get his shots off. But you're right probably that his better days last season were deeper. The way he changed that Bristol game for example was something else. Just by getting on the ball and getting us playing. Against Wolves too he bossed it from deep. But he's poor defensively. He can get stuck in but he's hardly a tackler and in the air I reckon a dwarf would beat him.

Thorne has to be the one sitting in, surely? Let Butters and Johnson bomb on. Bryson is in the mix too of course. Despite the Hughes hoo-ha, we do have four very good options in there. I think we will see one more added, Whelan perhaps? Then you've the youngsters.

I might be wrong, maybe Butters is one of the others that GR might want to shift on. But I doubt it. I reckon he rates him.

Personally, I think Butterfield is better getting on the ball early as a deep lying mipdfielder (as opposed to a defensive midfielder.) I've never understood the role of CDM, isn't that what defenders are for. And JB is not effective with his back to goal which is how he receives the ball when further up the pitch. Plus, he gets his shots off better when coming from deeper than from the edge of the box. He's equally dangerous from 25 yards as from 18. This will be his season if GR makes him his first choice and pereceveres until they knit together. With WH gone, his time to shut up his critics. Speaking of which, how u doing ninos?

I'd be ok if Butters gets another go. Genuinely think he needs a run and some confidence. I don't think he works that well with Johnson but In all honesty i just waiting to see how GR picks things and formations. I don't think he is as half as rigid in his mindset as our previous 3 managers who all seemed to have, not just a prefered set up, but a set up that was only to be changed in desperation. Insuspect we might see a degree of unpredictability in the early days. I hope so ! The only time I get twitchy is when I hear talk of Ince going. We need at least one gifted player to go with the graft.

Not sure where butters fits tbh. You'd think in a 4231 Thorne and Ledley/whelan type player would be the 2. Which means we probably need a number 10 in the middle of the 3 as I can't imagine butters playing there. Johnson for me would be first sub in the 2.

It's a 4-1-4-1 for me. Butters the deep mid 1. Ince wide right and a new wide left.

A mans shoes tell you a lot about the man. What do those shoes tell you about Butterfield, you tell me. :)

David Beckham used to wear Posh's skirts; still one of the best players of his generation.

Can't believe I've honoured that post with a response but I'm having a good day.

Thorne and Bryson as one pairing and BJ and Butters as another?

Controller and a runner, just with the defensive muscle switching between the runner and the controller in each pairing.

Thorne and BJ as well, I suppose.

As I believe I've mentioned, Butters and Thorne both want to control the game so one would have to adapt in that pairing.

Thorne sitting, feeding the front four and Hughes backing them up and threading them through would have been my pairing.

Rowett will be gutted not to have had more out before pre season starts! 6 or 7 who should still go! Lots of work too be done!

Plenty of time.

Becks could wear lipstick whatever, because he could play so the skirt was trendy. Lebron James wears pedal pushers and does pilates but he's Lebron, hes just cool. So cool, Andre Wisdom was just instagrammed on here wearing his Cavaliers jersey.

Put it this way, Warren, if I saw you in those Butter shoes, in and around Chadd, out of mutual respect of you being a Ram, I'd cover you up and escort you home to change or to Westfield to get a tolerable pair - rather than suffer the public humiliation of appearing an utter complete Chavy donkey.

His game sadly matches perfectly his shoe selection: naive, pretentious, utterly embarrassing.

Im having a good day too. GET RID.

God I hope so he can't get much worse for output!

Output as in goals and assists?

You do realise he's weighed in with more than any of the other centre mids used in the last two years.

Anyway, we will see how he and others get on this season. I have faith. It's pre season and a time for optimism. A fresh start.

Instagram user are you? Then why not look at Butterfield's. It appears he's got married to the woman he allegedly split up with last summer. How do I know that he split up with her? The Sun newspaper. They also reported something about sucking toes, and suggested he'd been locked up for assault. The Sun newspaper. And of course, put a photo of those horrid shoes in the story. In The Sun newspaper.

Weird then that he's seemingly happily married to the woman, isn't in jail or even been in court. It is enough to make one assume The Sun newspaper prints complete ********. So I would wager those horrid shoes are another myth.

But even if they are genuinely something he wears, I'm not sure how that affects his ability as a footballer. Maybe you should message all the managers who keep selecting him, and they'll ignore their years of experience and take your sound advice and get rid. Of Butters, Martin and Ince.

Yeah. Needs to improve in that area, get back to the form he showed in his first year. Same goes for Russell. 20 goals between them in 2015/16.

9 goals in 65 games since he's been here. He's one that can't get worse stats wise so at least rowett can claim he's made him better!

Wherever he plays we go into slow motion.

There are quite a few players who paralyse our team with their impotent play. Butterfield, Bent are two primary culprits, and other better players chip in here and there, but if we keep running out those two donkeys we will languish forever. Replace with inspiration please. He's far from fan favourite is he, we groan when he regularly plays back and sideways just as we groan when Bent gets caught offside.  We need to chop the squad but we have a problem with these two because no one in their right mind would take them from us. We are saddled.
