He never really established himself in the team and became more of an impact sub during his latter time with us. Good luck to him and I think the move will do him good. During a time of two Jokers for managers. Fact, Hendrick would be the second best midfielder here. Him, Hughes and thorne would easily be quality at most levels. Often exaggerated, as is the way with criticism on this forum, but "inconsistent" would have been one of the first words I used to describe him when asked. Doesn't matter any more though, he's clearly making steps forwards. I'm delighted he's doing well. He was a good servant here who played good football, and we got a fair price for him. I certainly wouldn't have been upset with him staying, but we can't expect to hold on to all of our best players while we continue to falter in our hunt for promotion, even if they're academy products.
