eddie
Sorry Eddie but I'm counting that as 3. and no. Fair enough - Gritstone Ram and I must be the same person, but I was so drunk last night I didn't notice. 4. Is it a beer referred to by a mathematical multiple, e.g. Dubbel, Tripel, Quadrupel? eddie
5. Does the beer contain a number as part of its name?
eddie
Tonight's first beer was a pint of draught guinness at the Plank and Leggit where I went for dinner. I got home and I have just finished the second beer of the evening - Rochefort Trappist 6. As soon as I opened the bottle the aroma hit me - it was almost like a cross between fruity bread, raisins and sweet malt. I think it reminded me of that Soreen Malt Loaf I always used to have when I went to my Granny's house for tea 50 or so years ago. It poured a beautiful dark golden colour with a thick creamy head that lasted to ever. To swirl or not to swirl, that is the question? I swirled. The taste is similar to the aroma, but a bit more yeasty - well, a lot more yeasty and with it there was candy floss, butterscotch, figs - at 7.5% the alcohol taste is almost undetectable. Pure magnificence in a glass.
