bigbadbob
So you're saying we need to spend another 6 million. Over to you melvin
tomsdubs
One list is well curated and bought for good prices. The other list is a bunch of strangers with some overpriced ***** thrown in.
Whosgonewhat
We've spent in excess of £25 mill on new player's, but have we made any value for money signings since Clough? Whoever is responsible for the batch of recent signings, and I don't believe they were all down to Clement, needs to be sacked immediately. Curtains
Should have signed Andre Gray. Oh wait a minute we couldn't he would have sat on the bench.
Carl Sagan
And our list doesn't even include the money we threw at Camara (where is he now?), or Pearce, or the now absent Warnock. I'm sure there are others. A lot of our transfer dealing has made no sense whatsoever and it's somewhat strange that people in the club haven't realized that. For instance, we have apparently bought Blackman and Weimann with the intention of deliberately playing them out of position where they were known to be ineffective. Srg
Let's list a load of players bought in completely different years and come up with a pointless inference from it. Good one.

Day
I get the comparisons with Leicester, you look at them 5 points clear at the top of the Premier League and where we are but you have to be fair here, look at the clubs below them, Man City, Arsenal, Man Utd, Liverpool. Derby are not the only club to be shown how you can buy well. Let's throw another comparison into the mix for balance, Hull City who drew 0-0 with Sheffield Wednesday on Friday, in the top 2 where Derby want to be, using the same Transfermarkt figures.... Total £40.66m McGregor - £1.31m Odubajo - £3.75m Dawson - £3.30m Davies - £1.99m Robertson - £2.70m Snodgrass - £5.63m Livermore - £5.25m Meyler - £1.35m Clucas - £1.35m Diame - £3.30m Hernandez - £9m Subs Elmohamady - £1.73m Powell - Loan Akpom - Loan

Whoever is responsible for the batch of recent signings, and I don't believe they were all down to Clement, needs to be sacked immediately. We use the continental head coach + technical director system. That's what Derby County employ according to MM/Rush. In a continental system where there is a technical director (or gm or chief executive), the head coach focuses on on-pitch performance and leave the rest, including recruitment and transfer, to the club. What's the benefit? Accordingly to MM/Rush, this system is better stability-wise because a manager can come and go in any minute -- but no new coach needs to bring in 30 new players. So no, they were not down to PC, if you believe in MM/Rush.

Alph
Leicester were the Champs big spenders Why do people keep forgetting that. And they failed to go up under Sven and Pearson for 3 seasons at least that I can remember. Remember Matt Mills being bought and put on massive money. They haven't fought the good fight at this level.
