A better chance of Bent or Martin playing less so wages going on subs? Martin getting fed up? If we keep rationalising the increasing costs of football season after season after season with the circular argument that our rivals are doing it so we must match them to remain competitive, then normal fans will be pushed out of the picture. I'm already struggling to justify what I spend on football, both financially and morally. £14,000,000 for a championship striker is a joke.£14 million is a joke but £130 million is the last laugh. If Derby had bought some more players when we had so many injuries we may have been promoted and we would have plenty of money to buy Rhodes.Ridiculous world in which money has a big say. Strikers can be worth more but at that point prem clubs would be looking and the player himself would hope to a prem club target. If that isn't the case then there would have to be some unusual financial or personal circumstances to make it happen.Unless we were running away with the league and buying for next season I wouldn't want us to spend that sort of money ..
