i-Ram
Can't believe it. Came on here thinking the usual suspects would have been on here moaning about the uncaring Tories, cutting this, cutting that. Obviously everyone agrees it was a jolly good budget then?
Tombo
It wasn't too bad surprisingly. Some things I could moan about (whether or not I'm a 'usual suspect') but I won't bother because I can't be arsed. As you were.
Daaave
I haven't looked too much into it yet but one thing I thought to be a bit disingenuous was announcing a new compulsory national "living wage" for anyone over 25 that is quite considerably lower than the actual living wage calculated by the Living Wage Foundation.Nothing else really stood out for me, cutting of University maintenance grants will attract some moaners I'm sure, but in reality replacing them with loans will make very little difference in practice and in my opinion is fairer anyway. Ashz09
Min wage up next April will bring everyone on min wage on par with mine! I need a pay rise lol. Doesn't seem like they are messing with my child/working tax credits to much which is good!
Boycie
Good point Ash.the days of the unions making sure others got the same rise have sadly gone.my rates will be going up though, mind you, they've been the same for over 8 years.
Ashz09
You still got that offer for 80 quid for that fan and installation lol! It's a good thing for everyone to be fair can see companys only going for the under 25 now thoe.
jmuss88
£9 an hr seems very high for unskilled work, I guess this way they can reap an extra £1000 a year on Tax / NI. The 16-24 year olds in employment will increase. Don't think the budget will have have an effect on me, but haven't look at the changes fully... Ashz09
True but with the way the wages havn't rose at all hardly for years seems fair. People can live instead of struggle I've always been on min wage even now on a **** wage and just surviving as my mother would say. Still got clothes since I was 16 (11 years ago!!!). Wolfie
Not too chuffed about them scrapping the cheap car tax bands and replacing it with £140 flat rate. Where's the incentive to buy a low CO2 car?.
jmuss88
That's quite a steep flat rate, think that anyone who purchased prior to this budget should be exempt, surely that'd be an incentive to purchasing in the first place!
Mafiabob
I best have the snip... Already got three kids... Best not knock out anymore... Don't want anymore taxpayers in the future do they? How much to have the snip private? []

Ashz09
I have one I am claiming credits for but one with an ex partner. Surely that means I can claim for my next if I do have one. If not will be a bit silly.
LesterRam
didn't touch the unemployed or pensioners, which I should think takes up a good 75% of the voting population so not to lose votes, did nothing for me really..
