Rhodes is a huge gamble for Boro IMO. His goalscoring record is impressive, but is that not down to the fact that teams are built around him?

Take this season for example: 11 goals in 25 games, but he's only scored three since 3rd October. Martin is in comparable form and he's bobbins according to some of our fans.

Lambert came in in mid-November and must have shaken things up a bit, presumably not making Rhodes the focal point. It's also telling that he's happy to let him go considering his goalscoring form of previous seasons, they've lost 4 of the last 6, and not won in 7, are being dragged into a relegation dogfight and have no time to find replacements.

Going back to my first point, will Boro suddenly abandon a model that has been quite successful up to this point and become a long ball into the box team just to suit Rhodes? It would be a bizarre tactical change given their current position. It smacks of panic by management/board, a reaction to losing 2 in a row, when really they're probably in a similar boat to us, they just need to go again, get a result in the next game and move forwards.

Rhodes hasn't even been tested at the highest level.  And if he's so good, why isn't he a regular for Scotland?

Come on now lets not get jealous. Surely no one in the right mind would not want Rhodes here. His goal scoring record is amazing. Just hope it  may cause a bit of unrest with there dressing room as couldn't imagine nugent and rhodes would compliment each other very well and neither will be happy being on the bench.

His goal scoring record for Blackburn is just under a goal every other game, and is only slightly better than Martin's since he has been here, which is just over a goal every 2 games.
