Thierry Ennui
I can't get my head around it. Hendrick is in such poor form, Bryson isn't looking his best and we only have four fit midfielders for three spots, two of which I'd class as fairly injury prone. Has there been any indication that any U21 players such as Koblenz are set to make the step up? Because it's not like we have any easy cup games to test them out in. (Reading will likely be an easy win but I'm expecting us full strength). My only conclusion is that we must have another mid coming in and yet we're not linked with anyone. Are we taking unnecessary risks?
Mostyn6
We've managed over a year without Coutts so why are we worried now?
BondJovi
Have you considered that maybe Coutts wanted regular football...
Gary Teale
We sold him as he wasn't good enough to get in side and we have lots of better options. We haven't been doing to badly the last 18 months where he hasn't been fit, we have managed to cope

DEL
Why is it a shame? Because I rated the player.
Gary Teale
Because I rated the player. Fair enough I thought he was pretty poor. Worked hard but no quality

Maybe McClaren considers Koblenz better than Coutts but you have to be concerned about his lack of first team football.
Ashz09
I remember one game when he was playing in the middle for one of the 1st times. Ran the show made some brilliant runs etc. Clough style next game he was on the wing I think. Seems legit!

Maybe McClaren considers Koblenz better than Coutts but you have to be concerned about his lack of first team football. I liked Coutts, he was a tidy player, but he's not the sort of player who should be decent back-up. He should be hitting his peak years, but he still doesn't know his favoured position yet. If Hendrick and Bryson were injured at the same time I think we'd be likely to change the system. With Bent and Martin as options now, we don't always have to go 4-3-3. Then there is the argument that Coutts is taking a place which could be held by someone like Koblenz. We could have kept him, and it's a shame it never properly worked out because I rated him. But I don't think it's an act of madness to let him go either.
Statham512
Shows how far we've come he was one of our better players a few seasons ago now his quality is not good enough for our first team squad. Shame for him but that's how football goes
-JW-
Because he's not good enough. Can't believe it's still being questioned.
Stive Pesley
We know the answer to the question though Rush has always said - if we get an offer for a player and it's the right offer that matches our valuation, then we will sell. Sheff Utd are trying to improve their League One squad - Clough knows the player, knows that he's not getting in our team, and they've made an offer that we deem high enough. That's why we sold him..jeez

Kernow
I think he's a good player who did well for us however in order for any football club to progress, players who fall below expectations of where the club is heading must go. To claim Bryson & Hendrick's form meant he should stay is not good enough. He can't be deemed good enough just because better players than him are off form. I'd say his level is mid-lower Championship, where we were when we signed him, but going a bit lower to Sheff Utd and with Clough is a good move for him. Hinzy9
Because clough only buys Scottish or ex-derby. Pretty obvious int it?

BOB BIGGS
Good move for all concerned. He will be very useful for them if he can stay fit. Chances are that we wouldn't have been able to offer him much playing time here. Hopes it works out for him.
