Wasn't that the problem at England thoe? He was more a friend and banter person then a professional manager.

Don't get me wrong thoe I think that style works and his 'Coach' name is about right. It works wonders and you want to play for him. For some reason I see Simmo as more of the manager type.

This is not a dig at him by the way lol.

It was the problem at England, the fact that he couldn't be friendly and pally with the players when he only saw them for 2 games every couple of weeks. Sometimes months would go by and he wouldn't see them.

But at Derby, it's different. The players and the coaching staff work together every day, and when Mac gives the order they are more than happy to do it because he is their friend as well as their boss. He can be their friend because he works much more closely with the players than he could with England.

That's his management style. Some managers want to be the angry, strict father figure, whereas the Mac is much more like that ward old granddad who you really don't want to let down.

Wouldn't surprise me if he offered out Werther's Originals at half time.
