Tombo
We won like all good defensive teams do. Staying solid, playing boring, boring football and stealing the result. Can't complain though can we? 2-0 away at Switzerland is a quality result.

Can't complain though can we? 2-0 away at Switzerland is a quality result. That's not exactly England you are blaming there. It's Roy. And that's the same reason why he had to quit as a Finnish manager. Unbelievable how he can make football so boring.
StaffsRam
Toughest game of the group, against a decent side away from home, and we could easily have had five or six. Plenty of things to work on obviously, but not exactly a bad night.
Anag Ram
I am pleased for Welbeck. What he lacks in class he makes up in pace and effort. He should definitely start the next game. So should Sturridge if fit. So who loses out? It won't be our new glorious leader (sarcasm alert) so I fear Stirling's lack of composure may cost him. Cahill played well and Jones was okay but the full-backs are moderate. I still think Stones will be our centre half soon Milner is another player whose work often gets overlooked. He may be a good bet to anchor the midfield with Henderson whilst the more creative midfielders break forward.
R@M
Hart 7 Stones 5 Baines 7 ..........WTF????????? Cahill 8 Jones 6 Henderson 7.5 Wilshere 6 Delph 6 Rooney 4 Welbeck 7 Sterling 6.5 Sorry sage but you rate Baines as highly as Welbeck who scored both goals? Did nothing defensively and was covered by Jones and Cahill on a few occasions and every attack he was involved with broke down when he received the ball. Henderson plodded, nothing special if not a bit lightweight Jones looks unfit and is generally poor.....doesn't help playing with Baines on the left Rooney returned a decent performance IMO. Good positions and some good balls. The rest are fair enough.

Counter attacking football tonight was good They got behind us,they got through us keeping the ball on the ground, they were rubbish at finishing, and defending.2 poor teams probably a poor group. R@M
Are you English. Switzerland at home are no mugs. I know! I should expand.....( and probably stop typing messages to myself )the missus had paused it and I didn't realise I was behind until I saw that score! I would have been (realistically) happy with a draw.
