ChaddesdenRam
Certainly won't go unless Thorne arrives. Link to comment https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/15587-john-eustace/#findComment-642845 Share on other sites

Alph
If we get Thorne I could see a loan. No Thorne though and I doubt Mac would let him go. He knows 100% that Eustace can do a job there. Cam the Ram
Good to have his experience around the place but I'd like to see Hanson and Coutts (If he can do a job as a holding mid) be the backup to Thorne (Touch wood) Link to comment https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/15587-john-eustace/#findComment-642854 Share on other sites
Alph
God let this be true. That's harsh. I thought he was decent for us. Lack of mobility started to show but he was tidy enough and he got his hands dirty for us while Hughes and Co skipped around. Ramarena
That's harsh. I thought he was decent for us. Lack of mobility started to show but he was tidy enough and he got his hands dirty for us while Hughes and Co skipped around. Your right. He's also got the know-how and experience at this level and supposedly he's a good character to have in the dressing room. I'm happy for him to stay another year as cover. StaffsRam
Wouldn't kill me to see him go, but without someone else coming in first, I doubt it. Link to comment https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/15587-john-eustace/#findComment-642865 Share on other sites
peakram
God let this be true. Bit of a surprising statement as until we got Thorne every time he didn't play we lost without fail!! Thought he did a good solid job in the holding role which no one else seemed able to do until we got George. Srg
I'd let him go for sure, but obviously we would need 2 defensive midfielders if he goes. Link to comment https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/15587-john-eustace/#findComment-642873 Share on other sites
Bad Sheep
God let this be true. Why? He's the only recognised DM we have at the minute and did a great job for us last season. Nobody expects him to be first choice now but as a squad player he's still useful to have around. peakram
Surely poor business to let him go unless we have replacements in, that could scupper the whole season. Any combination of the others without a holding midfielder seemed to result in a loss on each occasion, which was one of Clough's biggest errors (trying to fit them all in the same team out of position). duncanjwitham
Sounds like a newspaper putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5 to me. When we get promoted this season ( ), he won't be good enough for the prem, so he'll be free to go back to Coventry with our blessing, having done a pretty decent job here. Animal is a Ram
One of Clough's best signings last season, bought solidity and experience into the team. Maybe not so much of a loss on the pitch, granted, but off it, I think we'd miss him. Plus, the twitter parody account is worth a few laughs. Uptherams
He may be young but I would have Hanson as backup to Thorne. Link to comment https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/15587-john-eustace/#findComment-642889 Share on other sites
Curtains
He may be young but I would have Hanson as backup to Thorne. Hanson is a good young player that can play CB and holding midfielder . His time will come for sure.http://www.dcfc.co.uk/team/player-profile/jamie-hanson/28 Link to comment https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/15587-john-eustace/#findComment-642890 Share on other sites
Boss
If we sign Thorne, Hanson will probably be back up, Owen Bradley and Nicholson have been praising his performances in pre season - particularly yesterdays behind closed doors game..meaning Eustace may be allowed to leave. He's a decent guy to have around the squad though still Link to comment https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/15587-john-eustace/#findComment-642894 Share on other sites
Uptherams
Hanson is a good young player that can play CB and holding midfielder . His time will come for sure. Exactly. Plus he is a set piece specialist. If he was just a DM or just a CB I don't think I would be expecting him to break into the match day squad at all for another season. I expect big things from this guy. Just another one on our conveyor belt. Link to comment https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/15587-john-eustace/#findComment-642895 Share on other sites
peakram
We could certainly do with a free kick expert, most were disappointing last term (one of the few areas we can do a lot better!)
