Seriously though why are forest red?? Being in love with all things botanical you'd expect their kit to be some **** green and brown combination. Doesn't make sense. Its like derby going on about rams, having a ram as a mascot, ram as a badge, and then having the shirt and stadium seating coloured fluorescent pink!

Nottingham Forest have worn red since the club’s foundation in 1865. At the meeting in the Clinton Arms which established Nottingham Forest as a football club, the committee also passed a resolution that the team colours should be ‘Garibaldi red’.[78][79] This decision was made in honour of Giuseppe Garibaldi, the Italian patriot who was the leader of the redshirts party.

Some interesting comments on the City forum - http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/topic/95113-derby-countys-new-sponsor/#entry2996147 and not all taking the p!ss (though a few are - I like the one about the sponsors holding a sheep-roast on the pitch before each match).

One question which was asked is why do it now and not in a couple of weeks when you should be a Premier League side: wouldn't the sponsorship value go up then?

The real question is, why are your lot so bothered about our sponsors?
