Rich3478
George Thorne, the West Brom midfielder referenced in this article, was highly regarded before his injury. We could have a really exciting squad for the rest of the season. But where's the money coming from?http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2470096/Liverpool-defender-Andre-Wisdom-set-join-Derby-season-long-loan.html?ico=sport%5Eheadlines Who cares, given up worrying about finances in football. Nothing is fans do influence it in the slightest, just hope for the best team possible and winning as many games as possible.
TroyDyer
And your basis for knowing that we weren't after a centre half as well is? Nigel said several times that we would bring in a defender if we could find one that's better than what we had, so he was clearly on the lookout for one. Just because Albrighton was the only name being mentioned in the press doesn't mean he was the only player we were after. True. Yet we never got one. The new lot have been here 2 minutes and already we have an england u21 with pl experience, plus another that's come in on trial with Championship experience. Maybe more proof that it wasn't just arsenal that wouldn't loan to us in the past.
TroyDyer
There are a few people concerned with wisdoms lack of leadership and experience qualities. Shows there isn't a lot of faith in the leadership of the captain that will be lining up alongside him.
NormantonRam
I'm still a bit pissed with Keogh's needless tackle on a Fores**t player, can't remember who (Say No to Pharma Drugs), when he (think it was a he) was going nowhere, or rather the ball was going out of play, leaving us with 10 men in a game we bossed possession wise, we nearly snatched a draw with 10 who knows what would have happened with 11 on the pitch. An England U21 with far more first team experience than Wisdom has, so there's no need to starting claiming that Clough was unable to sign players like that. And we've yet to see whether any of these players are better than what we've got already - Whitbread certainly hasn't, as of yet, stopped the goals going in, for example. If Wisdom comes in and makes a big difference then fine, but he's not even officially signed yet.
HeyHudson
Has it been officially confirmed by the club yet? Wisdom himself tweeted about it yesterday ("Can't wait to start at Derby") but it seems to be taking a while for the club to say anything. Is the paperwork/actual signing being held up by anything? Who knows - could be that if we are going down the youth loan route ( that dont have a 93 day maximum length) paperwork takes longer than emergency loans? jimbobram
I heard last night that it could be Liverpool who are making the deal longer than expected because they might not want him to leave for the whole season. just for the 3 months. Hoping it gets tied up soon. Checking bbc every few hours, can't see that being the only issue as they could just have a release clause in the loan to cover the very unlikely chance they are short of defenders! AndyinLiverpool
It is telling that the puns on this thread have focused on the dental associations of the word 'wisdom' rather than sagacity.
May Contain Nuts
Derby Telegraph did say 'in the next day or so' this morning, so there's a bit of leeway there, no need to get anxious.

CoolGuy
They might only want 3 months so that if he does well he can be loaned to a team like Palace, which allows him to have PL experience in a defensively poor team.

North_Stand_Ram
A youth loan means they can be recalled at anytime, so that's not the case.
