PrivateDerby
Got my first car, a Peugeot 106, in April and i'm just about getting used to it now. If it's black and hasn't got a sunroof let me know when you're done with it, need to re-shell my gti
Smyth_18
If it's black and hasn't got a sunroof let me know when you're done with it, need to re-shell my gti unfortunately its orange. And it does have a sunroof! (no harm in trying.)
BOB BIGGS
And Audi's. Had a lesson the other day and one was driving right up my backside, trying to overtake at every opportunity. My instructor was furious My mum drives for her job too and says most Audi drivers seem to have a superiority complex on the road. I drive an Audi. I didn't realise that there were other drivers on the road....

Smyth_18
They're great cars, parts are amazingly cheap! Only just realised ,y terrible spelling mistake before Daveo corrects me. It's pretty decent, but having no power steering or central locking can be a bit annoying!
BorneoRam
I failed twice at 18 then passed first time at 28, spent the time in the middle at uni and london so gave up on driving. First instructor was a fool, second was great, makes a massive difference. I was a nervy learner at first as well but now not a bit, it does go so you should not give up. First car was a rover diesel because it was free, malaysian cars are insanely expensive, 2-3 times the price of cars in the uk, that said petrol is cheap, 40p a litre
rezner
Passed 2nd time in 1984(i think) in a Toyota Corolla. My first car was a Ford Escort MK1 (an ex cop car with a zip in the roof liner for the lights) Currently drive a Rover 75 Tourer, mainly for the space,as we go camping a lot. It's huge inside. It's got the BMW engine from the 320i and is suprisingly good. Love it i do.

It's pretty decent, but having no power steering or central locking can be a bit annoying! If you buy a 'better' car you'll miss the feel of a non power steering 106. I know it's a bit different as it's built for it but every time I've been on track days in the gti I've skipped past evo's, impreza's, M3's, 911's all sorts! Gritstone Ram
Never did a theory test. Passed second time round. My first car was a shovit and then i got a pandaghini. Been driving for about 23 years one thing it does is open up an option for away games. Get a few mates to split petrol costs and you can get anywhere. swansea ram
Here's a tip. Always remember a BMW has a different Highway Code to everyone else. You must make way for them like you would an ambulance Too bloody right you should. Especially if you see my 2ton beast behind you.
Duracell
Passed my test last July. First car - Fiat Panda. Still my car now. Horrible thing to look out but I love it to bits, and it loves me. Skinny tires, responsive steering, Italian gearbox....you can have fun driving it. Just at about 10 mph. And it doesn't really do hills. Driven down to Le Mans already in it, turned it into a tent, been off-roading...only been driving it for 13 months but I already want to marry it. As for future cars, well I don't know if I'll buy anything other than Italian car. The only time I'd ever break that rule would be if I could buy a Porsche (pronounced "porsch-uh", by the way - if you say "Porsch", you shouldn't drive one). Hate Vauxhalls, don't like Fords, German cars are for tailgaters, French cars are even more unreliable than Italian ones and the Japanese cars are for boy racers or old people. And 4x4s? Don't get me started on 4x4s.

They'll put one child in the back and then set off, never do a minute of off roading in there life!

(from Derbyshire) Do you think it would be a bad idea to take a 1.1 106 with no power steering, with 4 people in it?

(from Derbyshire) Do you think it would be a bad idea to take a 1.1 106 with no power steering, with 4 people in it? Not at all, just take your time! if you've got 4 people (and a load of beers/ camping stuff or bags) just watch the rear over bumps and ruts as they really drop with any weight in the back. Oh and if you see a big hill in front of you, make sure you put your foot down and get a run up! About ten years ago my mate got his nova stuck on Froghall Bank? By Ashbourne, I was crying!
