Ambitious Posted November 12, 2012 Share Posted November 12, 2012 Peterborough United have confirmed that they have transfer-listed four of their first-team squad following a 'breach of club discipline'. The Championship outfit have confirmed that Gabriel Zakuani, Nathaniel Mendez-Laing, Emile Sinclair and Tyrone Barnett have all been made available for transfer. Peterborough revealed the news in a statement, only saying it was because of a breach of discipline and that they would not be making any further comment. The statement read: "Peterborough United are disappointed to report that Gabriel Zakuani, Nathaniel Mendez-Laing, Emile Sinclair and Tyrone Barnett have been transfer listed and fined by the football club following an internal investigation into a breach of club discipline. "The club will be making no further comment on the matter." Central defender Zakuani, who has made over 150 appearances for the club, was club captain but it appears unlikely he will now continue in that role. Strikers Barnett and Sinclair both signed for the club last season in big-money moves from League Two clubs Crawley and Macclesfield respectively. Winger Mendez-Laing only arrived in the summer, joining from Championship rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers. Barnett and Zakuani wouldn't be bad free's - suppose that won't be the case mind! Alex W Posted November 12, 2012 Share Posted November 12, 2012 Sinclair would be a cheaper, younger and more lethal Tyson, so worthwhile picking him up just for that reason. Zakuani is solid too, he said over twitter that he wasn't drinking and was up and ready for church by sunday morning at 8am. Whether you choose to believe him is another matter of course, but it does seem an over-reaction by their club. They'll need Zakuani to stay up, and Sinclair. Day Posted November 13, 2012 Share Posted November 13, 2012 I doubt transfer listed means they will be allowed to go on the cheap, Tyrone Barnett went to Posh for £1m in the summer and I'd of thought they'd want to recoup as much as possible of that. None of them would come to us once they see how many fans we took to Ipswich a couple of weeks ago. Bet Forest sign them all to loan out to small clubs like Leeds and Sheffield United...
