Did I miss anyone? You can say a player is like another player without meaning he's as good as. Michael Carrick is a Xavi-type player, but that doesn't mean he's as good as Xavi - he just does similar things in similar areas of the pitch (but obviously not as well as Xavi). No one's claiming Hughes is as good as those players (or at least I wasn't anyway), but he certainly plays the game in a similar to those guys. And personally I'd say Ward is a Suarez-type player - nippy, decent finisher, dives too much and good at winding up the other team/fans 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />

you-rams
He's been linked with Fulham now. Apparently their main target for January. I think the £4 million being estimated is a bit low considering all the interest he has. It would be nice if we could hold out for that £10 million or so that Walcott, Bale and The Ox went for. Asanovic
Look about 12 in this photo. definitely different from Huddlestone (is he playing tonight). He always looked about 25 even when he was only 15. At this rate Hughes could be getting a game for the full England team in the next year or two. Easy tiger. Or are you being sarcastic? Cannee tell. I like Hughes. Actually, I like his potential. BUT he's got some key flaws that need to be worked on. To be expected at his age, but still need to be worked on. He's physically very slight, and quite weak. It's best highlighted when he ducks out of tackles. It looked like it took every ounce of his strength to hit the goal against Millwall. In his strongest position (IMO), he needs two central midfielders with him. I think these are usual traits with footballers his age, but he needs to get his strength up over the next couple of years to be anywhere near the senior squad. Again, IMO. Remembering where Walcott, Wilshere etc were at this stage of their development, they were quite a way ahead of Hughes. People kick on at different stages of their careers and he has got the raw attributes to do very well but they need honing over a 4 - 5 year period. Jacko1983
Oxlade Chamberlain played a season in league 1....and he was then bought by arsenal for £12 million + add ons. I think Will Hughes' Performances in the championship makes him a safer bet for premier league teams than the Ox was. 4 Million for Will Hughes? If he goes for that then the end of our football club is nigh. Starting with me not spending a penny on anything to do with the club until a decent amount of investment is shown. The current ownership seem disinterested in selling the club, which shows that they must be making a fair bit of money out of it.

They made a 7.7 million pound loss last season which they had to chip in and cover... they've lost nearly 30/35 million on Derby County since signing up to what was a sinking ship - now their reluctance to invest is more baffling than anything else they will keep making small losses at the expense of us being less competitive. Badlands
£10 million is asking a lot at his current stage. The strongest comparison would be the Ramsey transfer, he went for £5 million after playing a similar amount of games as Will, and with at least 2 clubs formally bidding for him. B4ev6is
i think he is worth at least 12m and appentley rail midread are in instreated now as there manager was seen at pride park scoting him i saying with all majour teams i say if we sell him we get a bit of a bidding war for him, it will be sad to see him go, but we could get maybe a good 20 to 25m for him.
