Ambitious
The Merlin is a hungry horse pub, fairly new it's where the old beefeater used to be on the roundabout near the South Stand carparking. I would favour this pub because its name has a local link. I've been there - also very nice and I forgot about it. I think that could be a winner... Asanovic
Brewery Tap (old Royal Standard) on Derwent Street does really good food and brilliant ale. Unfortunately no footy on - I've found Waterfall to be a happy medium.

ladyram
This changes matters, all you have to show is your ST? Yep. F&B's manager gave us 20% off when we went in, Dav mentioned we were ST holders, and he said that he's offering the discount all year because he can't accommodate thousands on matchday. Just check to be sure, but that's what he told us. rsmini
Went in the Merlin last week for the first time since it re-opened. The Madras was very nice indeed, plenty of choice as well

westbrom1404
Well that's a bit of a walk but I guess it's worth it as a Student, you can pile as much as you like on your plate and then you don't need to eat again til December. Very true haha! But I'm quite an active student so 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' /> I'll probably get a taxi from where my girlfriend lives which is literally in the city centre, unless I get a bus from the station to the Toby? Anyone suggest what bus to get from the Bus station to the Toby?

Anyone suggest what bus to get from the Bus station to the Toby? I lived down that way and I used to have to get the purple bus that I think runs to Notts? Rainbow? I used to live down Meadow Lane and I'd ask to get off there. It's opposite.
Boycie
Surely being a student you ought to be going to the Chad chippy and paying by cheque for a portion of chips?
