Surely liquidation is very unlikely at this stage and any thoughts on ‘our demise’ need to be kept in the back of peoples heads for now.
Its gonna be a stressful day for everyone, once again please consider what you post and it’s impact on everyone else!

Trying to buy the club with make believe money is always going to be tricky.
How do you convince someone that something you can’t see or touch is real and has value?
I certainly have no idea what crypto currency is and would not trust it not to vanish into to thin air. In fact I believe I am wrong. Maybe it exists in the gaps in between thin air…or maybe it doesn’t.

If Ed’s right then I think we’ve dodged a bullet in the long term.
A lot of short term pain though. Rooney will go. Probably end up Ashley and -15 and a tough year ahead.

We are not the ones who said it was done and dusted. CK said it would be done last week. Q’s statement said it would be done last Wednesday at the latest. So we assumed this incredibly complex rocket science deal that they keep going on about was already done.
We are just waiting for the money to move and that hasn’t happened.
Why not? The deal is done. It’s like me buying pint of milk. I go to the check out and they say 70p please and I stand there for a week before getting my debit card out.

I know CK has been a little haphazard and inconsistent in his tweets and various communications in this whole process. His "funds" are slightly mysterious, but he clearly has plenty. He's a (questionably how much, we don't know ) wealthy man who's entering into the takeover as a vanity project.
I think Mike Ashley seriously underestimated him as a tyre-kicker and thought he wouldn't be able to get the deal over the line, and he could do what he's done a hundred times, and saunter in at the eleventh hour with the only offer in town.
MA got it wrong. Despite CK's amateurish PR, he clearly has the readies to get this far, hence the reported attempt by Ashley to share the deal late on.
I'm not enthused by either of them, but that's where Mel has left us. The last 2 players at the poker table are the flash boy and the bluffer. Maybe they're both bluffing.
It's looking like CK will - eventually - get it over the line, and if he does we'll all be grateful.
I only hope that we can just get back to supporting our great club again whilst living within our means.
Sadly, nothing is certain given how far we've fallen.
    Hopeful, but still rather wary.

If CK is awash with funds gained through smart business acumen why buy DCFC?
We see he has sponsored well known sporting events to forward his company but he has said Slyco will not be the shirt sponsor. He says it’s not the right vehicle for his business and he is probably right. So what is DCFC to be used for? What is his motivation?
If it’s purely a vanity project then a couple of years kicking around league one will see that wear thin in short order.
I’ve said before that I don’t see the Kirchner fit and I don’t. But I’ll stand to be corrected. I didn’t think Rooney was the man and after barely avoiding relegation I was convinced of it. Circumstances gave him a second chance and he has acquitted himself fairly well.
I’ll say this though if CK falls through and we end up with Ashley -15 and no Rooney then I won’t lose any sleep over it.

We’ve been through enough trauma. I have no idea what to expect from CK and neither does anyone else. He’s a complete unknown to football. The game itself is not in his blood. He wasn’t brought up following football, not our kind anyway.
So we have a completely untried, unknown and untested person on the brink of owning our club. This is the first time this has happened to us. So forgive me if I and few other don’t share your clear view that all will be well.

This deal isn’t done yet and it’s ok to say so. There have been some totally bonkers theories given airtime on this thread and to show concern over the CK effort to purchase the club at this time is perfectly acceptable.

just looking forward to next season and hoping we keep enough of the group together to give the competition something to think about. Roll on the next 48 hours so we can get down to the real business of playing football. I’ve got my ST money ready in the piggy bank. Can’t wait to spend it and can’t wait for this thread to officially close. Are we going to have a ceremony and a symbolic burning of the great tome that this is ? It’s so long I’ve forgotten the title .. Something like character assassination and accountancy guesswork theories on fiscal mismanagement  .. for dummies. (Including me )

The price being asked for the ground today is seemingly unrealistic when viewed against the market place and our current position.
Consider …. We want a new car but we live in a dodgy neighbourhood with sparse parking. All being well, with our new job and promised bonuses we’ll buy the new car when we’ve moved and got a drive to park it on. Meanwhile we are putting money for the deposit on our new home. (I.e spending money on new players and contracts )
Laying out for the deeds of a stadium when we need the new players and to settle other more pressing needs on the budget makes no sense. No matter how rich or not CK is, you don’t splash the cash, you make it work for you. I suspect CK has made the common sense decision . Lowest price for the club, which for its assets was probably very low indeed .. spread the 35% pay back to creditors over 3 years .. the biggest expense and I suspect a 10 fold difference to the club / name / price, again limiting upfront cash and at the same time no points deduction so maximising our competitive advantage. Then add in income from that asset that you purchased ? Well it’s zero. Then agree a lease deal which adds a little to your running costs yes, but no need to borrow leveraged money to support it. Don’t forget many clubs may “own” their stadia but have often used them a collateral on loans .. do you “own” your house or is it mortgaged ? And if it’s mortgaged what value is it as an asset and what are the repayments ?

it would not surprise me if DCFC had been bought for 50 quid … But with the agreement to pay 10 million a year for 3 years to creditors. Because that was a better deal for the creditors than liquidation, the club having so few assets as you rightly point out. When you are in admin the only thing that matters is the creditors. They call the shots.

If CK gets it wrong in 2 years time he can walk away cleanly have spent maybe 20 mil. We’d be in do do again but his loss is limited and he won’t get stuck trying to sell that asset to a very small base of potential customers as we have seen.

Thanks for your support Charlie, my biggest concern is Kirchner not buying the ground.  For me the deal does not make sense as its being presented.  Why pay approx £35m for 5 players, a fan base and the golden share.  The ground is clearly worth more than £23m, so if he had the money, it seems bizarre not to purchase the ground.  I have a couple of theories about this:
    1.  He can't afford it, if thats the case he certainly can't afford to run a club that would challenge in the Championship....
    2.  He's not bought the ground, this is a shortem plan and gamble for him.  If he decides to walk he'd have less to sell or write off.  He may have a short term plan, if he's not successful in returning us back to the Championship.
Despite thier statements, I think the Administrators haven't taken the longevity of the club into consideration.  Appleby would have been a much safer pair of hands, but, he wouldn't pay 35p in the £.....
Lets see what Monday brings, like everyone else I would like a conclusion, even if Kirchner is not my choice, its about saving the club.
For all you abusers out there, I want my club to be saved, I'd just rather we weren't in the same situation again in a couple of years if Kirchner gets bored in the event that Rooney fails to bring sucess.
