Sadly in the world today a lot of people go where the money is and not show loyalty to their employer , not just footballers .

Political but I’m not sure not many companies have any loyalty to their employees.

Football is no different, just as every release list shows.

People have used the number of clean sheets, to claim that Wildsmith is the best keeper in lg1. Clean sheets can be earned by the whole team and have been in Derby's case, I would imagine that our keepers made amongst the fewest top quality saves last season. I can't remember many times that we picked up points because our keeper was man of the match.

On the other hand, Cash and Nelson seemed to mop up most of the awards between them.

Didnt he have the 2nd highest save percentage? I'm sure someone posted that.

How often are goalkeepers man of the match in a team at the top of the table?

I would say his save against Bolton was pretty pivotal

If Wildsmith played for say Portsmouth and had just won the golden glove with a clean sheet every other game, is at a good age and was being released, Derby fans would be saying straight away we should sign him up....

Follow that by he is about to come into the peak age for a GK. I’m trying to get my head around why people want him gone. He has saved us a lot more times than he has cost us.

NML can always make something happen and he has been our best attacking player this season, so in Warne’s eyes, almost definitely.

He is as important to us this year as McGoldrick was last year.

No goals in 10 and not producing at the moment, he has been woeful the last few games, yet been our attacking spark all season.
I wouldn’t have a clue if to play him or drop him

  5. Playing devils advocate but didnt we just have a run of 10 odd wins in 12 since he moved CH into the deeper role? Have injuries and people going to the AFCON played any part in our last few performances?

PS I dont like the style of football we play at all and would personally like us to play through midfield where I believe we have 2 of the most technical players in the division, but we cant argue the style has been effective at gets points on the board. We are 3 points off top after a slow start.

If his record was as equally good in League 1 than as bad in the Championship then surely he would have 3 promotions and 3 relegations against his name.

He also took them down when he was interim Manager in the 2017 season, he took over November time I think. Doesn’t count on some stats though he wasn’t full time.

I meant as in Riggs early days at Derby. Can't predict the future youth 🙂

He want straight into Premier League football and coped, I personally don't think Cashin will be a premier league player but none of us know. Big jump from doing well in League 1 to facing some of the best forwards in the world

I was thinking that as I typed but I feel Cashin is better all round and as Srg says, Riggs was injured a lot. Although it's true that obviously they played at very different levels so guess the jury is still out until Cash plays at a higher level.

Riggott played over 200 premier league games and in a UEFA cup final. Not sure Cashin is better all round either.

Question for those in the academy know, are there any whispers of pro contracts/scholarships being given out/offered any time soon? I was chatting to some folk involved in the Lincoln setup and they're trying to sort everyone out pre Christmas, so anyone not in the plans have all of January to either get sorted/in the shop window on loan, for next season.

6 odd have been offered scholarships, the rest have been released was told

  10. Lets not believe Warne cant always stop the rot, he does have 2 relegation's on his CV, 3 if you count 2017 as he was temp manager from November.

My worry is for the first time in a long time, when I watch us i am not sure what we are trying to do, well apart from lump it and hope we score from Set pieces. The centre backs he has brought in show he doesn't want to play passing football, they are awful on the ball.
