Hilarious how quickly some posters seem to be prepared to believe the ramblings of anyone spouting stuff on social media when we're 'linked' to an ex or current Rotherham player.

Of the 8 players that we've signed, only 2 came from Rotherham.
This constant criticism of Warne/Thomas/DCFC based on a false narrative that we "only sign players from Rotherham" is pretty pathetic.

    This ☝️…..is a poor take.
Of the 8 permanent additions we’ve made so far this summer, 2 are former Rotherham players. 25% of the signings made, meaning 75% were not former Rotherham players.
We’ve been linked with a couple of former Rotherham players in the press, and plenty who aren’t.
If people are articulating arguments against Warne’s tactics, or his ability to utilise and maximise the capability of players available to him then fair enough. There’s evidence that backs up those points, this narrative that he only signs his “old boys club” isn’t true….so far.
There does seem to be a disconnect between the recruitment Warne has done previously at Rotherham and his recruitment so far at Derby that does have me perplexed. Rotherham picked up some good, young or “peak years” talent (Barlaser, Ogbene, Humphreys, Johansson, Crooks, Ladapo etc) who Warne then turned into a functioning football team that gained success.
I’m interested in what’s prevented him doing that so far this summer at Derby. I know I won’t get an answer from anyone actually informed on the matter but is it by design that we looked to “experience”? is it wages? Is it poor scouting? Is it the business plan? Something doesn’t stack up with what Warne has said about recruiting for this summer (though I don’t dislike the new signings as much as some) and how he has recruited previously. I do think all it takes is 2 or 3 additions to improve the squad quite quickly, provided Warne can then get them playing in a system that wins football matches (back 4 please Paul)

For some it’s not possible I’m afraid. It’s become an obsession. An obsession that will not be satisfied until their wishes are granted and Warne is out the door.

Really don’t understand it.  It’s almost as if because we won and there isn’t a defeat to pick apart instead his post-match interview gets picked apart and psycho-analysed.

Yes please. I admit that I am obsessed about Derby, not sure about actually wearing a cap though that's a bit Warney isn't it? 😄

Oooo Roy did I specifically mention you as one of the obsessed? Not sure I did but if you want to wear that cap it’s all yours 😎

Because he’s giving context to the conversation about depth, injuries and needing signings.  Points most people will agree on.  Is it possible to not to look to pick fault in everything that’s said?

This cones across as extremely churlish and mean spirited.
At least give the guy an ounce of credit for 3 promotions.

    Seems a stretch.
He only got them promoted (3 times in 5 years) because of the squad he inherited? What about the 2 other promotions over a four year period? No credit due for bringing the likes of Ogbene, Barlaser, Smith, Ihiekwe, Harding, Ladapo etc to the club in his time?
I think it's fair to say he has his limitations but promotions aren't a given at any level, certainly not with Rotherham United in a league generally full of 'sleeping giants'. I get that he may not be everybody's cup of tea or even the right man to take us up but at least consider the whole picture, there's certainly more to PW than just luckily inheriting a squad during his time up at Rov'rum.

Not sure if I'm speaking out of turn here, and this is not aimed at any specific poster or comment, but my thoughts are that if any manager... in any industry... bailed on his/her beliefs each and every time someone poo-poo'd such beliefs... well, they wouldn't be much of a manager would they! 🙄
Changing tack is brave, if it's done at the right time (and in the right way).  Changing tack at the merest hint of discontent (be that from staff, players, strangers on an internet forum, or senior management) is weak, to say the least.
My opinion then, is that it is unfair to criticise PW for sticking to his beliefs.  That's what he gets paid for, and that's what he lives and dies by (professionally speaking).

I'm not trying to call anyone thick and i apologise if you took it that way but to me it seems fans are getting personal with Warne and I think that is out of order,by all means criticise his tactics etc but he's had his personality/individualism since he was born so why should he change that side of himself to nullify a few disgruntled fans.

We lose and Warne gets battered, we win and he still gets battered.  I don’t get it.  We’re 4 games in, nothing is won and lost yet.  Have we ever had a manager that seems to polarise option so much?

It was just a bit of sarcasm that most people with an iQ of above 10 would have understood, didn't realise our manager had to change to suit our fans it's getting quite boring that some posters scrutinise his interviews to find things to push agendas.

I reckon, if you perceive the comment as “trying to take the p out of NML” you’re trying too hard to find ways to criticise what he says. I believe he just plucked NML’s name randomly as an experienced player nearing the end of his career who may be of interest to the Saudi teams. Pretty much proving the point that for the right offer, any player could be sold.

There are probably plenty of things I’d take issue with. This wasn’t one of them. Nothing to see here. Move on.

Can’t help thinking some of us are beginning to border on the hysterical with the anti Warne rhetoric. I can appreciate some don’t like his style of football, his mannerisms and/or his way with words but in some quarters it’s going over the top. Getting a little tiresome in fact.
