  1. Waghorn looks out of sorts in his role.  Played ok generally.  Mendez-Laings total inability to release that ball to Barkhuizen in the first minute has cost us what had to be a certain goal.  We need a better option than continually pumping the ball into the box out wide as the centre backs are winning the lot.  Need more midfield runners to move them out of position.  Should be at least 3 nil as it stands.

Do you mean the deal was Cashin to Brighton (which I knew about) and then Brighton to loan him to Ipswich or Blackburn (which I didn't)?

    Sorry - I obviously didn't get the memo! 🤣

Correct.  Brighton had discussions with these clubs prior to agreeing any deal with Derby.  Maybe the loan fee they were planning on getting would be utilised to give Derby more cash up front to convince them not to bother with a loan back.  It all went Pete Tong regardless.

I hear a fair bit but don't really put it on here.  I have on this occasion to try and spread a bit of light on a lot of last minute confusion.

What am I missing? Edmundson plays for Ipswich, correct?

Cashin was due to go to Ipswich or Blackburn on loan .  Derby wanted him back till January. We asked Ipswich on deadline day to let us have Edmundson on loan to allow them to have Cashin .  They refused so we refused the Brighton move.  Last minute Brighton agreed to return him till January.  All too late for Cashin, 4 million and a loan back for Derby and Ipswich being told he wasn't going if Brighton signed him or not.

As per usual, the real losers are Derby as they're a large sum of money and probably a decent player or three down.  Brighton can get him cheaper in January and Ipswich will no doubt get him then.

They were crap last season, offered practically nothing against us and a 1-0 victory wasn't indicative of our dominance in that game.

Their squad is weaker than last year, our squad is stronger.

They're doing better than last year, but from what I can tell it's with some players who couldn't get in their team last season.

    Home banker.

They seem to have some potency off the bench.  Their subs get a fair few goals and assists

Let's take the specific club out of the equation for one minute...

Why oh why would anyone be so stupid as to have their club badge emblazoned across their suitcase, for all to see, and all to abuse... fellow travellers, baggage handlers, security... The number of folk that would be happy and prepared to do much worse than what is shown in this clip is immeasurable!

Stupid is, as stupid does!  🙄

Oi Bazza...Why doe's your suitcase handle smell of c*** whenever we go on holiday.

In the event of Cashin's departure, potential replacements might include Michael Ihiekwe, George Edmundson, Daniel Ayala, Ciaran Clark, and Cameron Humphreys.

We've tried that one. They're weren't interested at the minute, even to facilitate Cashins loan there.

  7. I suggested in the summer, that based on his less than enthralling last 4 months of the season, his quite reasonable choice to pick up some international caps at the tail end of his career given the opportunity, should have closed his door on the opportunity to keep playing for Derby, as it was unworkable to play at 3 in the morning on the other side of the world, travel back here and offer anything that was required.   The way he lost the ball like a comatose tortoise with one man to beat the other day, setting up a breakaway attack was proof evident of that.

Sky have just been looking at the three teams promoted to the Prem this season and asking if they will beat our 11 pts . Showing what they call the “League of shame” with us at the top. No mention of greedy Prem chairmen meeting today to give themselves a massively improved TV deal. Which will only widen the gap between rich and poor.

Have they conveniently overlooked the other 73 years we've had in the top division which probably includes about 50 top half finishes, 3 runner up positions and 2 titles.

  9. There are 24 clubs who have won the English title, including 7 who have won the Premier League (1992–present). The most recent to join the list were Leicester City (2015–16 champions) and before that, Nottingham Forest (1977–78) and Derby County (1971–72).

Shows how rare it is and that Mr Clough was indeed the best manager of the last 50 years certainly

  10. Wolves and West Brom.  Oh and Burnley won one.

There are 14 teams with more title wins than Derby and 2 with the same title wins but more runner up spots than our 3, putting Derby 16th overall.

Up till 2005 and 2013 respectively, we were ahead of the so called European superpowers of Chelsea and Man City and have won as many as 'the big club' Spurs.

    Bolton 8 - 1 Manchester United Academy

Honestly, what is the actual point of allowing the academy teams into the EFL trophy?

    It makes them feel important.

The idea of this trophy going back in time to Sherpa Van days, was the opportunity for supporters of the Rochdales and Southends to have a realistic chance of seeing their side get to and win something at Wembley.

Now it's a load of bollox that should be boycotted at all costs and avoided like the plague.

Imagine this team in the Premier League today though. It would warrant criminal charges.

Mears, Edworthy, Barnes, Oakley, Jones and Earnshaw and Miller in the mood- not Glenn- were all premier league capable but the rest were dross at that level who couldn't be carried past the first part of the season.

I still think if Barnes had been fit, we'd given Earnshaw more time on the pitch and invested in a quick centre back we'd have had at least 25 points.

I hope I'm leaving this wide open for someone else (especially when I get the year wrong again) but I have a hint of a sliver of a memory of a 7-0 win over Southend.

Can't picture the game/goals but looking at the players it's late-ish in the Arthur Cox era so I'll go for 1993.

    Right on either?

Remember Gabbiadini get a really bad cut, having it stitched and coming back on.  Got a perfect view middle of the Ossie End of him heading one in straight after and busting the lot open again.

I see Reading are at it again, they've missed yet another deadline, this time it's the HMRC again. They really are a basket case, I suspect that their players won't be getting paid at the end of the month, either.

The question must be, "what are the EFL going to do about it?"

Bring in 4 players on loan and a new management team under a restriction they now admit they knew would make Readings budgetary promises unworkable.

Oh, they don't need to relegate us this time.  A warning and a 3 point deduction it is then.
