I agree with this. I’m not fussed by the no news or leaks. However, we have a big summer window, we need pretty much a whole spine of the team. Major surgery is needed in GK, Midfield and attacking areas. We need the players in for pre season in those key positions.
I don’t want situations like last summer where certain positions were not filled until late on. We can’t afford to be still buying key players in September. Pre season will be big for getting them settled ready to hit the ground running in August.

Performances of course could also have fallen away as we had no defensive midfielder or striker. Or like you say could be because of a made up story.

With regard to WarCatDCFC, he seems to think we're all bullies. I don't believe I have bullied him and there are others whose posts, IMO, aren't bullying. There are some that could be construed to be so.
As a retired English and Computer Science Teacher, I have taken a look at his posts. WUM? It's a possibility but I don't think he is. AI Bot? Not a chance. AI is designed to improve, to evolve and get to perfection. He is consistent in his sentence construction. AI would learn and change its construction. Punctuation is completely missing. The non-use of capital letters is inconsistent. AI would be consistent.
It is my considered opinion that WarCat is more of a B4 type. Knows what he thinks but has difficulty putting it into coherent, standard English. We were patient with B4 and I ask my fellow posters to be the same with WarCat.
I'd also ask @WarCatDCFC to try to explain his thoughts, if possible. For instance, if you'd said why you think Connolly was so good that we missed out on getting him, when he was little more than a bench warmer in an, at best, average Blackpool side, there would have been far more constructive responses. A little explanation would go a long way, remember, it's often what you don't say that confuses others rather than what you did say. In this case, it's probably the lack of "why you think he would have been a good signing" that has led to  the tone of some of the responses.

I know what you mean. Personally I tend to hang back in situations like this just in case it is someone who is struggling with their communication skills. It may well be a wind up or a wildly impatient post but I tend to give the benefit of the doubt rather than just assume someone is being completely unreasonable. Perhaps other folks are just better at spotting these things than me but I'd rather not take the chance, just in case. I wouldn't want to be the one to put someone off posting on here and on DCFCFans we know how important an outlet these forums can be for some folk.

Would he really choose them over us? About the only 2 things that would be in their favour would be the likelihood of more game time and possibly not having to move house.
Set that against training facilities, stadium, crowd, probably wages too and, IMO, a player with ambition wouldn't choose Stockport.
Ergo, the chances are that DCFC was never interested in him in the first place.

Oops. Thanks for pointing that out. It means that Stevenage was the watershed, then. But we had the debacles against Crewe, Cheltenham and Northampton before that, with terrible team selections and tactics. Warne deserved criticism, big time, I believe, but not personal abuse.
