  1. 👍 Well he didn't see that last season when he hadn't the opportunity to get them fit like he has this. Might finish fourth. Maybe higher, that depends on how badly other teams choke.
  2. Charlton are so poor they hadn't won in how many games? Oh come on Curtains last night was just another dreadful example of how Warne thinks we should play football - although I hear he threw his 'get out of jail' card into the ring, with a 'we haven't played well' all season remark! WTF. 😄 I can't remember the last game we played really well and still we manage to win games. But of course Warne tells us this League is much of a muchness so no wonder we struggle. How long have you been watching us, how many managers have you seen? This guy is managing at a different level to most of the previous managers I remember so it is difficult to see just how bad he is, but he's bad. 👍
  3. Of course it's still all to play for. Just like it was end of last season. Only the fact the league is poor will get us promoted imo.
  4. I did wonder if Gayle might already be regretting signing for us. 😄 He did a good impression of a limited hold-up striker last night I thought. If he was waiting for service in the box or passes laid off for him he might have a long wait.
  5. What did we end up with on the pitch last night? NML, Wilson, Barks, CBT and Sibs (out wide-ish) how is that the players fault when they are obviously sent out to 'be on the grass' with no idea of how to play?!
  6. Pragmatic would be getting the best out of your (supposedly) limited resources. Warne doesn't do that he sends a team out to, as he sees it. counter the opposition and hopes to get the best out of the players where-ever it is he plays them. Why did Cashin start at left back and not Sibley who we know can play there? That would have been pragmatic. Instead we have to set up a formation to allow Bradley to play in a 3 at the back, why? That isn't pragmatic when we have played better playing a four of Nyambe Nelson Cashin and Fozzy/Sibley/Elder. It isn't pragmatism at all.
  7. We're not the ones out on the pitch! I thought the crowd sounded well up for it last night. That's how it sounded anyway. The players are sent out and set up in such a way that you have no idea how good they really are! Look how Warne made Jason Knight look last season, fans were saying he was rubbish! 😄 There's a reason we look an ordinary League 1 team, that is how we are set up and managed!
  8. 100% this. We have a squad of players and many of them don't know where they'll be playing next season. Will our manager want to keep them, will they want to stay? Who will be recruited and who might come through from the Academy? Do we as a Club want those decisions to be down to Warne and his horrible approach to football? It's not too late to change, it's better to do it now in a way, a new manager would have chance to change the way these players are sent out, although who knows how they were sent out in the second half last night! I have no confidence that Warne will get us over the line, especially after the end of last season.
  9. You think the manager might do something about that? 😄
  10. The football was awful, hardly any creativity and lots of odd positioning of players. No real pattern to our play either before or after various substitutes. It's been like this since Warne was appointed, he gets through it mostly because of the quality of players recruited. Should have won, really?
  11. What was created that Collins could have taken advantage of? Yes we might have missed him but we'd have done no better.
  12. It's talked up because there's so much dross played with a decent squad. What we needed on the pitch today was another wide player and a change of formation. 😄
  13. More like not knowing who is where, doing what, in the defence in front of you.
  14. Wrong. But you're such a better Derby fan than me so thanks for that?
  15. Gateshead don't have to gamble they are winning without him. We're not playing at the same level as Liverpool. The talk on the Academy thread is of Cruz Allen being 'watched' by the big boys. Why should he stay? Why will any of our youngsters want to stay?
  16. Is there much we can do to stop them 'stepping in'?
  17. Yeah I expect Brown will have watched the Carabao Cup final. Good to know what your manager thinks. 😉
  18. "...And with Martyn Waghorn expected to play some part against Charlton tomorrow, when asked if recalling Brown was an option, he said: "No not really. "It would be too much for him. It is a big leap to go from there to leading our frontline. Respectfully to Daj I just think Nat has a better understanding. "I just think that if the opposition saw the team sheet of Brown up top or Mendez-Laing, I just think the latter has more to give as does Tom Barkhuizen to be fair. And I don't think it's fair on the kid to throw him into that."
  19. Bloody hell what do you want, flowers and chocolate?! 😄😉
