Almost like their manager did his homework and set them up to create that situation because our reliance on playing with width leaves us susceptible to getting done through the middle. Playing with width is fine, I'm ok with that approach,but a better team than Lincoln will exploit that weakness in the middle if we keep allowing it to happen.

Their squad was always going to pick their form back up at some point. It allowed us to close the gap which is good. We've got to keep pace now.

Can't begrudge him some personal success, well done to him I say. I'm just relieved we got his contract tied up before he potentially had a good tournament.

Game management issue I'd suggest

Everyone is ultimately for sale or available, especially when they are so close to the end of their contract. They might be willing to play hardball in this window (as we are with Bird) but come the summer when he can entertain offers from anyone it will become hard for Carlisle to do much about it (as it will with us and Bird).

It's been rumoured that the player Warne referred to going to watch after the Burton game is Moxon.

I would counter this a bit by saying that you also probably can't get promotion by running a load of players over 30 in to the ground for 50 odd games per season, as evidenced last season when we tailed off and missed out on the playoffs entirely.

Even if that's true just play him and pay him. He's the best keeper we have and has been a solid #1 since he arrived. I doubt his wages will get bumped so massively that it'll send us in to another Mel Morris spiral.
