  1. I feel like we are winning in spite of our tactics not because of them
  2. Lovely goal. A beautiful layer of papier mache over some massive cracks in the performance.
  3. If Warne wants the fans to get behind the team he needs to help give the fans something to get behind. His chaotic, kick and rush nonsense obviously ain't it.
  4. Of course they could. We are far less than the sum of our parts. Nothing will change until the manager changes.
  5. A useless manager and an owner that bet the farm on him and is now stuck. What a position to be in.
  6. Warne out. I don't care if we turn this game around. It's just the absolute worst dross I can recall us playing.
  7. The frequency with which Warne gets outwitted tactically is alarming given the level we are at. If he manages us in the second tier that's only going to become more of a problem.
  8. Worse than that, it's incompetence. Either we are set up to play like this, which is management incompetence or the players are just doing it all wrong, which is their incompetence.
  9. If I was a midfielder and we came to try and sign me I'd have serious reservations about it given the way we are playing.
  10. Now, now! You can't expect too much from a club with one of the biggest wage budgets, the biggest ground, the best facilities and a manager with a track record of promotion. It's your own fault for expecting too much!
  11. Couldn't go today as I've got a sickness bug. Well probably win handsomely now I'm stuck at home.
  12. "Now that looks like a fit and proper person if I ever saw one!" The EFL and Quantuma, presumably.
  13. 1-1 Collins. Bonus prediction, Davies scores a header for them in the 95th minute.
  14. Recruitment is something I'll give Warne some slack on, even though I do believe we attempt to recruit based on the type of squad he wants to build. Ultimately he's not in full control of it, but he is a key part of the process. On the recruitment front I'd be more interested in what that fella we hired from Oxford has been up to.
  15. The resources available to Warne are greater than a majority of clubs in this division, even if they are limited by the standards we are used to. The idea that Warne is operating on a shoestring in L1 simply doesn't stack up. Our wage bill is one of the highest in the league, if the club hasn't been able to assemble a balanced squad with it then that's on Warne, Pearce and Clowes. The mitigating factor for Warne there is that he's not the only person in control of transfers, so I'll concede that, but he's certainly a big part of that process and not some impoverished manager bereft of options.
  16. If the same issues and deficiencies didn't keep showing up we wouldn't have to keep repeating ourselves. If you find it boring that's not my problem.
  17. Does Warne deserve vitriol? Of course not. Is it fair to criticise (without being abusive) what people may consider flaws in his management style and performance levels of the team? Absolutely.
  18. Disagree to an extent. There are a few people on here, myself included, who have been voicing concerns over the issues we perceived since as early as last season. None of those issues have gone away and the club have done very little to change my mind. This isn't some mindless knee-jerk reaction. For a lot of people it's simply that there is only so much paper you can put over the cracks before you run out. Plenty of people advocated for time, which is fair enough, but Warne has had over a year at this point and the same issues keep cropping up.
  19. I doubt it. He's got his own view on how he likes to manage a team and as noble as that is, it becomes harder to enforce and maintain when you try it with bigger clubs with more variables, more fans and higher expectations.
  20. I posted a version of this in the match thread but it belongs here I think. I'm Warne out, I have been all season really. Even in our run of form performance levels were frequently poor and we rarely look like a team in control of a football match. The simple fact is Warne thinks he can approach the Derby job with good vibes and percentage based kick and rush football down the flanks that offers little control. There's not really any nuance to it and any manager with half a brain can figure it out and counter it. Despite the above, we have brute forced a number of wins by having better players and a bigger budget than the opposition. If we get promoted we won't have better players and a bigger budget than the opposition. What do we do then? I maintain that a manager with a more advanced approach to football and how to set a team up would extract better performances out of this team, and the deficiencies I see in Warne's approach will only become more of a problem as time goes on.
